An Excuse to Be Stupid
And Being Called Out
I was waiting in line at the bank, when a man started shouting.
“What the F — you doing, man! Don’t you touch me! Touch me again, I’ll slap you. I’ll F — you up!”
A man was standing by the counter against the wall. Another man had apparently attempted to walk past, and either brushed or bumped him.
The security guard tried to intervene. To resolve the dispute, or make the man leave the building.
It only incited further shouting. His personal space had been invaded. He’d been disrespected, first by the man who bumped him, then by the security guard. He was not letting them get away with that.
A calm voice carried across the room. “Randy, calm down. You’re just looking for an excuse to be stupid at people. Stop it.”
Amazingly, he stopped.
