“ Life be lifing” — every human being

After a conversation with a close friend of mine it was brought to my attention that life sucks sometimes.

A firm reminder that life doesn’t always go as planned

She said and I quote “ these are the things that make people want to give up” deep exhales* no lies were detected.

In the midst of her breakdown I intervened with “ it will be ok”.

These words were not immediately received well but… after a couple of moments of breathing , venting and a walk she was smiling.

For me … this was a win.

As she said it takes one thing to make us feel like the entire world is falling apart.

I myself know this feeling all to well…

What I reminded her was that life will always be lifing but it’s how we handle it that matters the most. There will always be another inconvenience, bad news, sad days andddddd… that’s ok. That is life. After we’ve cried our tears, fought the air, screamed into a pillow, whatever it is that you may do to express the frustration and discontent , comes a moment of acceptance.

We must not forgetwith each negative moment comes positives and even when things are at their worst , they can always get better. Maybe when you’re in the heat of it you can’t see that. There may come times where it feels like the bad outweighs the good . So here’s two things I encourage you to do in those moments.

For starters, breathe.

After that take a moment to consider the things you are grateful and thankful for.

In my profession we call this “ hunting the good stuff”.

Scenario:

Your tire popped and you got into an argument with your spouse anddddd to top it off your dog pooped on the carpet….

Hunt the good stuff.

You might say ….

Even though all of that really sucked I’m grateful I’m still alive.

You may find one good thing that happened. To be honest sometimes that’s all you need is one good thing , that can make all the difference.

I hope maybe this offers a bit of a perspective change.

Because we know life be lifing.
