A Man and His Vision

You Must Have A Vision

By all accounts, Steve Jobs who co-founded the Apple Computer Company (now known as Apple, Inc.) was not an engineer, programmer, nor inventor. However, he was a very astute businessman and marketer. It was his skills as one who understood marketing that would propel Apple to great financial heights. Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak — who was the actual programmer and engineer behind Apple’s initial consumer product the: Apple I.

Jobs may not have invented Apple products, but he did assist in all things related to product design and marketing. He had an acute understanding of what was needed to create outstanding user experiences with Apple products. Still too, in terms of his marketing skills Jobs knew how to position Apple products in the best light possible. This understanding of how to position Apple products is what made these products household names in the world at large.

Jobs continued to help make Apple products the “devices” and “apps” to own as it related to computers, ipods, ipads, iphones, iTunes, and much more. While Apple’s various devices are excellent products, they are also symbols of status. Owning an Apple product suggested to everyone that you were doing very well in life. This too was a part of Steve Jobs’ brilliance in promoting the company’s products to the world.
