Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat Pray Love, really dives into the magic of creativity in this book. She refers to inspiration as energy flow that comes and goes to different people. She shares her encounters with the energy and how we can be our best creative beings. She honestly discusses what it’s like to live a creative life. The highs and lows of it all.

This book was a great, inspirational read for me. It gave me some valuable take away lessons, here are four of them.

We Are All Creative Beings

“The guardians of high culture will try to convince you that the arts belong only to a chosen few, but they are wrong and they are also annoying. We are all the chosen few. We are all makers by design.”

Gilbert really focuses on empowering everyone to feel like they can be creative. Living a creative life has nothing to do with being the ‘choosen one’ in the artists community. It means to find your own ways of expressing yourself creatively, ways that bring you joy and inspiration.
