forgive yourself for the wounds you didn’t create

“Forgive and be nice to yourself. It’s your first time living too.”

“It’s unfair, right? They trigger you to get angry. Then when you do get angry, they act offended. It’s like you’re not allowed to feel that way. You’re not allowed to be angry; only they are. Your emotions get invalidated. When they do something wrong, it’s okay. But when you do, you’re suddenly a bad person.”

I know you didn’t want any of this to happen. You’re a wonderful person, full of love, and you’ve shared that love with those closest to your heart. You give everything you have, and that’s what sets you apart from others. You have a good soul. You love deeply and passionately. But despite your love, things happened, and they hurt you. You hurt them too. It’s painful, but what’s even more painful is that you keep loving them despite everything. You loved them even after what they did, but they didn’t do the same for you. In their eyes, you suddenly became a bad person, and they refused to treat you the way you treated them.

I know. It’s unfair. And it’s painful.

I’m sorry for letting people hurt you so many times. I’m sorry for the wrong choices you made when you didn’t know better. I hope one day you’ll learn to forgive yourself. I hope you’ll heal from your trauma and learn from the mistakes of your past. It takes time, brave soul, but you’ll get there.

One day, I hope you’ll learn to love yourself after all the heartbreaks you’ve endured. I know it’s hard to forget the painful memories, but healing takes time. I hope you’ll find your worth again.

I hope you find people who will accept you, understand you, support you, and love you unconditionally.

I hope you find people who won’t make you struggle to translate your soul’s language just for them to understand you.

Here’s your gentle reminder that your past mistakes and traumas don’t define you. You are more than your wounds and scars, more than the number of times your heart has been broken. And I hope you always remember how proud I am of you for having the courage to keep going.

The kindness and braveness inside you despite all of the things happening in your life, are what make you truly beautiful and unique.

You are loved, and you are always enough.
