Bogdanka reported that in view of the current market situation, it has decided to carry out an impairment test of its assets, resulting in a write-down of PLN 1,174 million. This has the nature of an accounting operation and does not affect the current condition of the company. The Company published Current Report No. 28/2024 on this matter on 27 August 2024.
On 14-17 May 2024, Bogdanka was audited for recertification against the requirements of ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety). The audit was conducted by the certification body TÜV Nord Polska.
The difficult market environment, the pressures under which the mining industry operates, the need to optimize costs and focus on the Company's core business resulted in the need to revise the existing marketing expenditures at LW Bogdanka. Following an in-depth analysis, the Management Board has decided to withdraw from some sponsorship projects.
The Management Board of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. has announced the financial and production results of the LW Bogdanka Group for Q1 2024. Sales revenues reached PLN 815.9 million, EBITDA reached PLN 162.5 million, while EBIT reached PLN 48.3 million and net profit reached PLN 42.8 million.
A total of 250 thousand zlotys was awarded to scientists from the region for the implementation of 6 grants under the newly established “Fund for Environmental Research and Activities in the Lublin Coal Basin Area.” Yesterday, on 7 May, ceremonial signing of agreements with grantees took place at the headquarters of the Polesie National Park in Urszulin.
