Are you a freelancer? Maybe you’re a professional content creator, a communications or comms consultant, or you offer other business services.

As the year draws to a close, you probably have your attention on two things: The last minute rush to clear your desk before the holiday season and your books. Was the past year profitable, or not?

These are both perfectly natural places on which to focus your attention, but they will inevitably pull you away from planning work for next year.

Actually, I don’t mean planning. What I really mean is business development to ensure having work for next year.

But you can use the holiday season to quickly and effectively do just that. Read on to find out more.

Firstly, let’s start with what your typical day looks like

A freelancer’s time, that’s the time you spend hunched over your computer, should break down into three main elements:

  • doing business time
  • drinking coffee and looking out of the window time
  • developing business time
