After surviving nearly drowning on Niuhee, the young Atticus Gray is moving onto the next step on his plan. He's headed to Gronze to acquire a rare and valuable ancient artifact from a powerful collector. Before he can secure the trade, however, he's swept up in a conflict he wants no part of. Part murder mystery, part political intrigue, Gray needs to make new friends and new allies to survive on Gronze, and he's not the most sociable person, so his work is cut out for him! Along the way he might solve a murder, protect loved ones, cry a lot, and determine what makes a person a living being worthy of life. Mostly that third one, though.

A sequel to Elizabeth Dumler's first novel, The Lost City of Malalo, Steam Powered soul is a comedic and dramatic fantasy science fiction comedy novel that is, frankly, hard to describe on a website.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Liz Dumler is the prime example of a Goblin, if a prime example of a species would be someone probably playing video games right as you're reading this. She is an aspiring author, librarian, artist, and speedrunner of classic video games (if you know what that is, you'll be excited right now). She loves being yelled at about her book, so if you want to contact her, she's available on Twitter at @_Lizstar_. If you're bored, let her know what you thought. She loves that stuff.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

Lyle makes a lot of really cute art online, which made it strange to illustrate a book about the worth of a sapient creature in a society that wishes to exploit it. You can find her adorable art over at @snailpaw over on Twitter!
