Henry VIII (Shakesperius)
Henry VIII est fabula historica a Gulielmo Shakesperio incepta et adiuvante fortasse Ioanne Fletcher perfecta. Doctam esse titulo All Is True die 29 Iunii 1613 (atque fortasse bis vel ter antea) satis constat; eo enim die theatrum Globus in incendio deletum est ob ictum pyroboli male paratum dum archiepiscopi Eboracensis epulum (act. 1 sc. 4) in scaena agitur.[1] Fabula primum in editione in folio (titulo Mr. William Shakespeares Comedies, Histories & Tragedies) anno 1623 edita est. Fons principalis, quo usus est auctor, fuit Raphaelis Holinshed Chronicles of England, Scotland and Ireland, cuius operis editio altera anno 1587 divulgata est.
