בשנת תשפ"ב (2021–2022) במסגרת הקורס "לומדים ומלמדים – הוראת העברית כשפה שנייה בסביבה מתוקשבת" בהת... more בשנת תשפ"ב (2021–2022) במסגרת הקורס "לומדים ומלמדים – הוראת העברית כשפה שנייה בסביבה מתוקשבת" בהתמחות בלשון העברית במכללת קיי בישראל ניהלתי שני פרויקטים מקוונים בין-לאומיים: "באר שבע–מוסקווה" ו-"באר שבע–קייב". בפרויקט הראשון השתתפו הסטודנטיות היהודיות והבדואיות הלומדות לקראת התואר הראשון במכללת קיי, והסטודנטים המתקדמים, הלומדים לקראת התואר השני באוניברסיטה הממלכתית הרוסית ע''ש קוסיגין במוסקווה. בפרויקט השני השתתפו הסטודנטיות היהודיות והבדואיות, הלומדות לקראת התואר הראשון במכללת קיי, והסטודנטים הלומדים לקראת התואר הראשון באוניברסיטה הלאומית טברידה ע"ש ורנדסקי בקייב. כל הסטודנטים חולקו לצוותים כחלק מדגם הלמידה השיתופית. ההוראה בפרויקטים המקוונים הייתה משולבת: הוראה אסינכרונית בממשק המודל, שאליו היו רשומים כל משתתפי הקורס מישראל ומחו"ל, והוראה סינכרונית בזום, שאפשרה מפגשים לשוניים ורב-תרבותיים בין כל הסטודנטים גם פנים אל פנים. הקורס התמקד הן בטיפוח השיח הכתוב, הן בטיפוח השיח הדבור.

The article proposes a model of collaborative learning while discussing the numerous advantages i... more The article proposes a model of collaborative learning while discussing the numerous advantages in teaching Hebrew as a second language based on the extensive research literature written on the subject. To facilitate meaningful learning, this model was implemented in the annual “Oral Expression” course in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language in the Bedouin Sector at Kaye College in Beersheba between 2014–2018. The main course objectives, which include formulating an educational character employing standard, rich language; developing the ability to orally express ideas in a connected, unified and continuous manner while using various rhetorical constructs and developing the ability to express thoughts in an original personal manner and more. The course focused on pronunciation, reading text, formulating a lecture based on one of the rhetorical models and preparing classroom discussions. The article introduces various teaching methods that can be used to nurture oral expressive skills and improve correct pronunciation. It should be noted that the social interaction that occurred between the students during the “Oral Expression” course strongly contributed to its success. The issues raised in the lectures and discussions proved relevant to Bedouin students from both a pedagogical and personal perspective. The students’ reflection and achievements revealed the course’s ability to promote peer and collaborative learning, increase self-confidence and improve the students’ expressive abilities in Hebrew while providing them lingual and pedagogical tools to teach Hebrew as a second language. The students learned to express and explain a personal opinion, as well as to hear and respect other opinions, to conduct a civilized discussion and to accept the other. All of these increased the internal motivation of students, resulting in meaningful learning that involved cognitive and emotional aspects while remaining oriented on the student. [P. 30-42]

Homeschooling is the education of children who do not attend public or private schools when reach... more Homeschooling is the education of children who do not attend public or private schools when reaching the age of compulsory education. Some parents educate their children in a method parallel to that in school known as Homeschooling, which is also a general term for home education. Other parents adopt Unschooling as their method of educating their children. These are radical doctrines, and most parents who homeschool generally balance the two approaches. This article aims to discuss the phenomenon of homeschooling, which is gaining traction both in Israel and around the world, with emphasis on preschoolers and the parents’ philosophy, primarily in light of the fact that Israel has advanced a compulsory education law from the age of three instead of five. The article will also discuss the pedagogical aspect in fostering early literacy in homeschooled children while demonstrating possible teaching methods based on an in-depth review of homeschooling groups on Facebook and based on the studies on literacy and language that was submitted by the author of the article, the mother of a four-year old homeschooled boy, to the Ministry of Education to receive an exemption from the compulsory education law, and was approved.
