The data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire, which 582 healthcare professionals returned. Purpose This is an empirical study of knowledge management performance (KMP) at a university and ... more Purpose This is an empirical study of knowledge management performance (KMP) at a university and the purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between knowledge management process (KMPR), KMP and job performance (JP). Design/methodology/approach The data were collected using a questionnaire, as the instrument for the primary data collection, with total collected back responses of 207 from university lecturers who have actually participated. Structural equation modeling technique was used to fully analyze the data in order to determine what level of the relationship between knowledge management (KM) and JP existed. ABSTRACT Firms continue to invest heavily in Information Systems (ISs), albeit with no formula of... more ABSTRACT Firms continue to invest heavily in Information Systems (ISs), albeit with no formula of equilibrium (break even) to guarantee any returns for the investors. It is therefore crucial to find out what they are getting out of this investment and how they could possibly increase those returns. Sixteen Jordanian Financial Organisations were surveyed in order to study the role and value of their ISs. Based on findings from earlier research, an analytical framework, which provides a rich picture based on content, context, process and their ramifications, was used to analyse the role of ISs. Different questionnaires were distributed to senior managers, MIS/computer managers, and managerial users of ISs respectively. An interpretive analysis was carried out. The results show that little long term strategic planning was pursued and emphasis was more focused on short term planning. There was no adoption of any strategic fit principle linking IS strategy to the corporate strategy. In addition, the benefits obtained were mostly intangible. Although ISs were central to the work of surveyed organisations as the core technology, they were considered as tools or work enablers rather than weapons for competitive rivalry. Cultural specificity of IS impacts partly accounts for variances in performance as compared to Western studies reported in the literature. The research reiterates that measuring the benefits of ISs is problematic. However, in order to gain more insight, the phenomenon of ‘the role of ISs’ has to be studied within its context. Recommendations for using ISs to attain a competitive advantage, and the importance of long term planning for IS and corporate strategies are explicitly highlighted.

The study was carried out on a sample of tourists totaling (446) who visitied for their several touristic sites in the northern, middle and southern parts of Jordan. The study adopted seven dimensions for the E-marketing mix namely; Eservice, price, promotion, E-site, information accuracy, payment and personalization. Three dimensions were used for the tourists attitude toward the E-marketing practices namely; knowledge, behavior and feeling. Different statistical techniques were used (e.g. average calculations and standard deviations, regression testing (t) and analysis of variance) to respond to the questions of the study and also for hypotheses testing.
