The 2017 Archive Is Complete

Howdy, y’all. Hope your Sunday is restful. Just a note here to announce that all the Jason Journals posts from 2017 are now live on my new host, Pika, being backdated as needed.

If you’ve subscribed to the RSS feed, please bear with me in my post migration process. As of now, Pika does not have a way to backdate posts prior to publishing. So my workflow is to publish my old posts, then edit the post so I can backdate it. This means that the post appears in the RSS feed as if new/current before I’m able to backdate it.

Two issues with that are:

  1. It can confuse readers when a “new” post appears but then kind of disappears/moves to an old date because it’s not really new.

  2. It can “spam” your RSS reader since I’m migrating a handful of posts back-to-back.

On the upside, I’m not sharing links to my backdated posts on Mastodon; I only share current/new posts. So if you follow me there, you’ll see an accurate post cadence.

I’m trying to manually migrate posts by month from oldest to newest (makes updating links easier). And since my first year of Jason Journals was a rough start (2017 was a tough year overall for me), I had few posts. So it’s done already!

Thanks for reading or following along.
