Part of the best game in the jam in my opinion
Thank you so much!
Very nice. It looked really good, nice music, and game play.
Overall a good game. Good luck!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Dope visuals. The gameplay feels unique, you should consider developing more on this game. Good luck!
Although the concept is not necessarily original, the approach you used to establish the visual and auditory experience is just brilliant.
The dash/jumping mechanic feels a bit unresponsive at times. From all the games I played within this jam, I personally think this game should win.
Wow! Thank you so much! From all the Game Jam games I have created I feel like this one has the most potential for expansion, And it would be really cool if it would get a high rating :)
The art and music are amzaing, also an original idea. The only problem is the controls are hard when you are going sideways or downwards.
Hmm, it's weird since I didn't program any exception for sideways or downwards movement.
I'm glad you had fun anyways.
This was a wonderful experience! I love the art and music so much!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed
what an artful game! you did a great job.
Thank you.
I agree that the first jump was a bit too tough (I think it was the hardest one in the game for me...) and also thought that maybe there were a bit too many deadly spikes. I liked the difficulty, but just a little breathing room after beating a miniboss would've been appreciated (I almost flew into some spikes right after exiting the boss room). I liked the enemy variety and the animation of the player character is super nice. I also thought the music complimented the overall style really well.
I thought it was really fun and I was pleasantly surprised by how cohesive and complete it felt :) nice job!
Thank you, I agree that the game could use some difficulty ajustments, If only I had more time ;)
Thanks for playing.
Really cool atmosphere. Overall style was fantastic. I was catching Celeste, meets Ecco the dolphin vibes. I really liked the stretchiness of the fish as it swam around the environment.
Feedback: I see people commenting on the controls and movement. I didn't mind that so much, it seemed like you had a feel you were going for. If you kept the controls like this I would give the player more time to play with controls before introducing bigger jumps. I found it frustrating at the first big leap that I had to keep going back and doing that first part over and over again.
Nice work!
Thank you, I knew the game is hard, so i wanted the player to have to pass the jump to procced, im sorry if it made you frustrated.
Very beautiful game and so artful. Only bad part is movement and control other people explaind it very nicely.
Can you play and rate my game too?
A beautiful looking and sounding game. Everything flows together very smoothly and I'm glad glad I played it. The intro cutscene perfectly explained what happened and what the goal is. Overall really solid!
My only suggestion is to fix the movement system. You either need to go with a smaller player character, tighter velocity shifts or a different movement control scheme. It was hard to control the character at times.
Thanks for playing.
You think you could explain what made it difficult to control? alot of you said that, but I didnt understand what part of it was the problem...
For me it was really hard to navigate around the starfish and the spikes growing on the sides. Too fast and I can't navigate around them in time, too slow and I can't move out of the star fish fast enough. Some areas I had to just repeatedly die and rush through before the enemies respawned. The controls do make me feel like I'm controlling a fish and would be great for other types of environments, but requiring tight-ish movement in narrow passages makes it hard to use.
Hope that helped some.
Idyllic .. poetry in pixels,
not sure why but I kept wanting it to be rotate left, rotate right and forward ?
Excellent creation though :)
Awww, Thank you so much.
Cool game! An artful experience ^^
Thank you! im glad you enjoyed it!
Really like the game. The art is amazing and the sounds and sound effects are wonderful. It was fun to just jump in and out of the water to hear the splashes.
And as a few people already mentioned. The controls felt a bit off. Never really understood how to go in the direction I want since every time it felt the controls shifted if you just turned slightly. Otherwise beautiful game.
Im glad you enjoyed, I tought just having the direction you press be the direction you move the simplest way to do it, Constantly thinking about the direction of the fish can get hard..
This game was gorgeous, visually and audially. I was really impressed with the varied line thickness throughout the levels, they really added a sense of variety in a monochromatic environment. The music was also timed perfectly with both on-screen events and the mood you were trying to create. Also, thank you so much for the checkpoint system, really well done.
My one gripe would be that I felt like I was wrestling with the controls, especially in the beginning. I'm used to "flying" type games using W as forward always, so it took a while to re-orient my brain. However, I felt that on the final boss this control scheme actually worked really well, maybe because it was more zoomed out and less claustrophobic?
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. Great work and good luck!
Thank you for the feedback, I realized that the control system takes a while to get used to, thats why i decided to have the tutorial level completly empty of spikes and enemies and with ways to go back if you need a bit more practice, And since its a topdown game where the camera doesnt rotate, i felt like it was the right call to have it analog to the camera.
Im glad you enjoyed!
I rated and I have already left feedback! Remember to rate mine too :D
I did :)
Thanks, appreciate it :D
I finished the game and really enjoyed it. The art and sound is really good. The game reminds me of "Ecco the Dolphin" when I was a kid. The boss at the end is good, not difficult but addictive. Pleasantly surprised!
Thank you! Im really glad you enjoyed it :)
Great Job!
The controls are so good! Love the jumping out of water feel. When you can seamlessly jump from one water area to the other without bouncing in anything it is so satisfying!
Putting a timer on it would be could. The mechanics are working so well that it deserves a speed runner mode :)
I did want to add one, Just time had no time :) Thanks for playing.
Loved the stetchy bouncy boi! The jumping in/out of water mechanic was lovely and the respawn points were, well, on point. I only wish there were boosts/powerups of some sort (Unless I just didn't make it far enough to find them lol) ! Overall this was really nice.
I tried to give variaty trough enemies and level mechanics, since this is a game more about careful navigation and not combal i felt like powerups wont suit it well.
but thank you for the feedback anyways, and thanks for checking my game out :)
Ahah, I understand! (You know how we gamers can be, just wanting it all lol) Either way this was a beautiful game and I mean it!
Nice! Big Echo the Dolphin vibes which is A Very Good Thing :)
Thanks, I didnt know this game existed but now that i looked it up i see that its really simular :)
One of the most appealing games in the jam! Loved it, the music, animations, player interface all wraps up around a beautiful game!
Maybe try to have some in-game instructions, that always helps!
Overall, a really well put together game!
Loved the art, music and animations! Which animal is that though, hmm...
Great Job :)
Thank you, Its suppost to be a generic fish, i didnt really dive into which type :)
