Kaunertal at night The darkest place in Austria Immerse yourself in the vastness of the universe… Here, the cosmos itself is our planetarium!
MOONSCAPES Amongst all the celestial bodies, the moon plays a very special role for us and our earth. In addition to processes such as low tide and high tide, the moon also influences plant growth and therefore has a significant influence on the rhythm of traditional agriculture in the Kaunertal valley. Many natural processes follow the cycle of the waxing and waning moon. Join us and immerse yourself in the vastness of the universe amid breathtaking natural scenery at night.

Journey into the past and into the heart of the mountain.
FOLLOW THE COURSE OF THE WATER VIA STAIRS, NARROW PATHS AND A SUSPENSION BRIDGE IN THE VERPEILSCHLUCHT GORGE.
As you proceed past cascades and waterfalls, new perspectives constantly emerge. Cross over the gorge itself on a spectacular suspension bridge!

The Kaunertal adventure round is a variety-rich family hike that’s ideal for all ages. Experience the natural spectacle, impressive diversity, and special moments at the foot of the Kaunergrat mountain.
ONE HUNDRED METRES UP ON THE SEITWAND ROCK FACE, THE ADLERBLICK VIEWING PLATFORM IS PERCHED HIGH ABOVE FEICHTEN.
Here you can get up close to the mighty peaks of the Kaunertal mountains and get a bird‘s eye view of the valley. A small footpath connects the Adlerblick viewing platform with the Bergwerksblick viewing platform. This platform overlooks a steep slope where centuries ago the Kaunertal valley miners used to mine.
© Teammedia / Michael Obex
This is the starting point for a journey into the past and into the heart of the mountain. The Knappensteig trail leads hikers through the history and tradition of mining in the Kaunertal valley. Search for ore yourself at the miners‘ hut and share a snack with the wooden miners. Two accessible miner‘s caves from the 16th and 17th centuries can also be visited along the trail.
