Greenery and elegance marry to create an enchanting editorial...

The venue selected is the enchanting La Casa del Gelso, a countryside house dating back to 1800. Idyllically located amidst the Abruzzian backcountry, between Città Sant’Angelo and the Adriatic coast, couples are invited to celebrate life’s most precious milestones such as civil weddings followed by a party to remember. The kitchen at Casa del Gelso proposes dishes from the tradition and elaborates menus inspired by seasonal produce in addition to what can be found amidst the rich gardens. Surrounded by greenery, from olive groves to mulberries, Filomena D’Amelio from Boutique Wedding planner & designer stumbled upon the perfect location to host her styled shoot. She wanted to showcase a chic garden style with a natural flair, filled with floral compositions but not structured. Amongst the choice of flowers, she selected lots of green foliage, such as Eucalyptus and Thlaspi, and as the main florals, she introduced roses like Hydrangea and Viburnum. A stunning floral semi-arch framed the elegant and romantic mise en place, elevating the scene. The idea behind the shoot was to create a bucolic ambience as an ode to Mother Nature, almost as a return to the origins, boasting lots of authenticity. And, these are also the themes the team forecasts for 2024 and 2025 weddings.

Filomena started by picking the palette for the shoot. La Casa del Gelso was a great source of inspiration with its ancestral trees and lush backdrop. The colour green dominated the scene and a touch of blush gave an ultra romantic note. The floral elements were also incorporated on the plates that adorn the mise en place, all hand-painted. The sophisticated tablescape embellished with gold cutlery, and a precious ivory tablecloth created the perfect contrast to the more rustic elements of the venue. The stationery was personalised to showcase a watercolour painting of the venue. The planner with the dream team incorporated an elegant perfume bar, which is extremely requested by couples at the moment. The hand-selected perfumes with their exclusive fragrances married well with the atmosphere and the verdant location, offering an unforgettable sensorial experience. Another corner was dedicated to the Champagne tower, highly requested by couples to capture beautiful videos and photos. In addition to the décor, the two bridal gowns were instrumental in this shoot. Both are from the “New Romantic” 2024 Collection by Napolitano Trotta Maison, beautifully suited for this bucolic wedding editorial. The first dress boasts a floaty and soft feel whilst the second is bright and glamorous with the addition of floral details. The two dresses are a match made in heaven for a countryside retreat, especially in the Italian outdoors.

Navigating the world of diamonds is a minefield, and while the launch of lab-grown diamonds started to change the industry, Skydiamond have taken it to greener heights. Here’s how they outshine through their climate-positive alchemy… Earth-mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, Skydiamonds…the sparkling world of proposal jewellery is complex for couples to navigate. Historically, earth-mined diamonds were the only available choice, but this has expanded and evolved, with the introduction of lab-grown diamonds in 1954. While this ground-breaking discovery resulted in less environmental and ethical damage, advancing technology soon recognised flaws in this process too. A core ingredient used to make lab-grown diamonds is cheap commercial gas, much of which is a by-product of mining. Plus, the majority of manmade diamonds are manufactured in distant global factories incurring heavy carbon footprints. That’s when ecoentrepreneur, Dale Vince, saw room for improvement. He wanted to create the world’s most sustainable manmade diamond, from the skies above the great British countryside. After years of research and development, his Sky Lab in Gloucestershire was born, a facility that develops carbon-negative diamonds by design rather than off-setting. The unique patented process uses carbon dioxide from direct air capture, hydrogen from the electrolysis of rainwater, and wind and sun providing all the energy required. This means for every carat of Skydiamond produced instead of mined diamonds, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by 99.79%. It doesn’t end there, as once the celestial stones are formed, they are passed on to a female artisan collective of jewellery experts in Surat, India, a renowned world centre for diamond cutting and polishing. The stones are shipped in small batches to minimise transport and the carbon incurred is offset. Sykdiamond’s partners in India were carefully chosen as they share a value system of fair and equal pay for female workers, 54

flexible working hours and other ethical working conditions, so the positive impact continues from end to end. Next, Gemologists at the UK’s Anchorcert laboratory analyse each Skydiamond under a microscope using the 4C diamond grading and certification. Each gem has a unique code that follows it from birth at the Sky Lab, providing full integrity and traceability from start to finish. married under the romantic Tuscan sun with a beautiful villa wedding… Stefan proposed during a moment that was quintessentially us - walking our dog, Stark through the historic St. George campus of the University of Toronto, where I did my MBA. This part of the city holds many fond memories, and we've always been drawn to its stunning Victorian architecture and picturesque scenery. Stefan did his best to keep the whole thing a secret, but let's just say subtlety isn't his strong suit! He enlisted a friend to set up a surprise - a bottle of champagne and flowers - in front of one of the oldest buildings on campus. She was even stealthy enough to capture the entire event on video. We tied the knot on September 6, 2023 with an intimate celebration of 66 people. Most of our guests were coming from North America, so the September long weekend was a blessing in disguise. It gave our guests the option to extend their stay, transforming our wedding into a potential 10-day Italian getaway with minimal days off work! It ended up being a win-win situation for everyone involved. Planning a wedding in Toronto presented several challenges so we decided to broaden our horizons overseas. Our quest led us to France and Italy, two places dear to us as we have family residing in both. That's when we enlisted the help of our fantastic wedding planner, Charlotte. Based in London, she's fluent in both Italian and French, making her the ideal liaison between us and our dream destination. Stefan and I were intent on creating a unique experience for our guests. We sought a venue where everyone could stay together, within a two-hour drive from an international airport, and equipped with amenities that our predominantly North American guests would appreciate such as air conditioning and private washrooms. La Foce, steeped in rich history and unparalleled beauty, met all these criteria. At the heart of our relationship, Stefan and I share a profound love for history, a deep admiration for prolific European architecture, and an appreciation for stunning natural landscapes. The La Foce and the Val D’Orcia region encapsulate all of this and more with

their incredibly rich heritage. It felt truly special to intertwine our story with such a historic site, creating memories that we'll cherish forever. Helping us collect as many memories as possible, our photographer, Theresa Kelly, was one of the first people we brought on board and we couldn't have been more thrilled to work with her. She is an artist in every sense of the word, creating magic with each photograph she took. I got ready in the Villa's private bridal suite, with my closest friends dropping by throughout the process. Having them there, sharing in the joy and excitement, made the day even more special. My main dress was a stunning piece from Galia Lahav. The moment I put it on, I was hooked. The gown was originally designed with stunning, ultra-feminine tulle sleeves, which looked incredibly angelic but didn’t resonate with my personality and style. Throughout my life, I've always leaned more towards bold, less traditionally feminine styles. For my wedding, I wanted to add a touch of edginess to my look. The sheer illusion of the gown, coupled with the customdesigned pointed sleeves that were created in lieu of the tulle sleeves, struck the perfect balance between unexpected edginess and the soft romanticism you'd expect from a Tuscan garden wedding. For my other outfits, I enlisted the help of Canadian stylist Rachel Dunford. She curated outfit recommendations for the welcome dinner, reception dress, and civil ceremony, cleverly incorporating both new items and pieces I already had in my closet. Rachel made sure each look was a perfect fit for the venue, event, and most importantly, perfect for me. Her expertise gave me the confidence that all my looks would be spot-on, allowing me to focus my energy on other aspects. The most special part of the day, without a doubt, was having all our friends and family gathered in one place. Stefan and I have loved ones spread across the globe, and we belong to several different friend groups due to living in multiple cities and attending different universities and grad schools. So, bringing everyone together to celebrate with us was truly the highlight of our wedding. It's a rare and precious experience to have so many people you love in one place, sharing in your joy — it's a gift beyond compare. We crafted a celebration that wasn't bound by tradition but was deeply meaningful and personal to us.

My family has Greek origins and last summer we were in Athens on holiday. My fiancé, Giovanni, organised a romantic picnic for me in the garden of a villa overlooking the city from which you can admire the architectural beauty of Athens. All of a sudden, in the picnic basket I found a bouquet of amazing flowers with a little box containing a beautiful diamond ring and he proposed. It was such a magical moment that started our journey of love to the altar. We chose to get married in Borgo Baccile estate, owned by a well-known winery in Abruzzo, surrounded by the beauty of an unexplored territory to show everyone the wonder of our region Abruzzo. Together with us, our families and our beloved friends, all gathered to celebrate this fabulous event. We wanted an intimate wedding where everyone could enjoy the location and all the finer details we prepared for them. The venue has many guest rooms, so we were able to pamper our loved ones and organise a three-day experiential journey for them. In the beginning, we were a bit lost, we didn't really know how to organise the thousands of ideas we had for our special day. Then, we met Cristina Orsatti, our wedding planner, and she translated every last detail and wish into reality. Definitely, deciding to have a wedding planner was the ultimate winning decision for us. She guided us in choosing the best suppliers, all who met our needs and expectations. Everyone was extremely patient and helpful. We didn’t expect how fun and scenic the floristry part of our day would have been but it was one of our favourite aspects of the wedding preparations. When

choosing the flowers, we looked for colours that would enhance the details of the setting, we were having an outdoor dinner and we wanted the hues to be in total harmony with the garden. We talked a lot about this with the wedding planner and when she showed us the project we were thrilled - our dream came true. As for the food, we were so relieved we could count on the head chef at our venue, Borgo Baccile, to design an exceptional food experience for us, pairing every dish with the best wines from their cellar. We chose our outfits following the advice of our wedding planner and our looks were in harmony with our florals, decorations and backdrop to create a refined and romantic effect. The dress code of our guests was country chic and everyone enjoyed wearing clothes that matched the atmosphere. Wearing our styles was the fanciest we had ever been and it will always be a special memory in our hearts. The most touching and emotional moment was the exchange of vows and of course, the second when we said "YES"! Another instant that will be embedded in our minds forever was our first dance to the notes of the song 'All of Me' by John Legend very touching!

Our wedding unfolded in the breathtaking Cathedral of Santa Maria in Cagliari. Our enchanting ceremony set the tone for a day filled with beauty and grace. Following the vows, the celebration moved to the historic Villa d'Orri, Sardinia's only royal villa, where the Savoy family once spent their idyllic summer days. At the heart of this meticulously planned event were the remarkable skills of wedding planner Xenija Vakultschyk and the expertise of XL Events. Drawing inspiration from the villa's rich history, Xenija and her team created a celebration that was a tribute to the aristocratic gatherings of yesteryear. The grand gardens, with their timeless elegance, played host to a celebration that combined style, gourmet cuisine, and delightful musical entertainment. Central to this theme was the exquisite blue Toile de Jouy texture, a classic French fabric that adorned all graphic elements and table settings, creating a seamless blend of sophistication and tradition. As guests arrived at the villa, they were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink in the picturesque Italian gardens, around the villa’s iconic fountain. They were then led to the inner courtyard, where an array of appetisers awaited them under the shade of four majestic, century-old fig trees. Setting the perfect musical ambience, the Boys4Road, a talented quartet known for bringing acoustic Italian music to prestigious venues across Italy, welcomed everyone with their soulful tunes. Guided by the enchanting melodies, guests made their way down the main garden avenue to a breathtaking sight: a single 74-meter-long table set under a custom-made canopy of light fabrics and lush garlands. The stunning floral arrangements by XL Floral, featuring single-variety blooms that celebrated each flower's unique beauty, added an extra touch of magic to the scene. The culinary delights continued with appetizers and a sumptuous lunch prepared by the renowned Sardinian chef Luigi Pomata. As the afternoon sun began to wane, the festivities moved to the villa's panoramic terrace, where guests enjoyed the breathtaking views and the cake-cutting ceremony. The journey to the terrace was itself a memorable experience, as guests ascended the monumental side staircase, beautifully adorned with gypsophila, creating a dreamlike backdrop for photo opportunities. Pastry chef Leonildo Contis crafted the stunning cake, which took centre stage beneath the main French door that opened onto the villa's luxurious rooms. The cake table, draped in Toile de Jouy and surrounded by towering white delphinium arrangements, was a sight to behold. Samantha & Dave dazzled their guests with three days of celebrations in the Italian capital... Everything we had ever hoped for came to life with our wedding extravaganza in Italy. We set our hearts on the stunning capital, Rome, and planned 4 days of events for our beloved guests who came from afar to celebrate our love. We started with a rehearsal dinner in a quintessentially Italian restaurant overlooking the Colosseum. Aroma Restaurant was the perfect setting to welcome our guests to Rome and even though the weather was not in our favour, we enjoyed exceptional food in an elegant ambience. Our welcome reception was great fun and Roberta Torresan with her team made sure every detail was taken care of so we didn't have to lift a finger except for picking up a zesty Aperol. We danced and laughed, and it was by far one of the best nights of our lives. These wonderful days set the tone for our unforgettable wedding amidst the grounds of Villa Aurelia, one of the most iconic venues in Rome if not in Italy. It was the most magical day, from the florals to the entertainment, everything was impeccable thanks to the five-star work of Roberta Torresan. The weather was perfect so we used the outdoors for our drinks reception and the cutting of the cake. The reception setup was something out of a fairytale, sophisticated and ethereal, everyone was stunned by the elevated tablescapes that perfectly complemented the beauty of the venue. We could have not asked for better support and even our guests suggested it was the best wedding they had ever attended in their lives. We can't wait to be back to celebrate an anniversary.

Nazlee & Ossian opted for a minimalist and neutral palette for their museum event in Sweden...

Our first wedding celebration was a destination wedding in Stockholm’s National Museum, a grand, gorgeous art museum in the centre of the city. The National Museum was one of our favourite places when we visited the city together for the first time and we have always gone back ever since. We fell in love with the high ceilings and impressive tall sculptures of the recently renovated Sculpture Courtyard and were so pleased when we were told that they would be able to host our wedding there. The restaurant at the National Museum is also very well known for their exquisite modern Swedish cuisine and we were blown away after each meal we had there. A key element of our design within the space was our white floral arrangements designed for us by Sarah from Gullvivan (@gullvivanstockholm) who is truly an artist. Her organic designs were striking works of art that were only enhanced by their museum setting. We complemented this with large slabs of broken marble to mirror the stunning marble statues of the Sculpture Gallery. The imperfect nature of this broken marble really spoke to us and symbolised the imperfect yet beautiful nature of life. I got ready at The Grand Hotel (@grandhotelstockholm) with hair and make-up by Heidi Garcia Andersson (@heidigarciaandersson) before I was led down to an area behind the museum where we had our first look. We then went on a boat, M/S Champagne, for a journey across the islands. We had scheduled this specifically to have some time together just the two of us before the wedding started and it was truly one of the most peaceful and fun parts of the day. We held our Persian wedding ceremony ‘Sofre Aghd’ in the Sculpture Courtyard. This ceremony was so special to us and we wanted to keep it small and intimate, so we only had 40 guests. We worked with an amazing wedding planner, Sara (@events_by_sara), who was so helpful with pulling everything together and running the day seamlessly. Sara also designed a bespoke ceremony table ‘sofreh’, especially for our day incorporating our abstract white florals, and broken white marble slabs atop a full glass table.

The final result was a striking, modern ‘sofreh’, both delicate and strong. The ceremony involves a sugar veil blessing, during which a cloth is draped over the couple’s heads and two large sugar cones are rubbed together to create sugar dust to symbolise a ‘sweet’ life for the couple. We wanted our ceremony cloth to be something special incorporating our two cultures. We worked closely with the incredible Rebecca Anne Designs (@rebeccaannedesigns) who is well known for her luxury embroidered bridal veils and was so patient in understanding what we were looking for. Our ceremony cloth was adorned with a border of Iranian roses, pomegranates and lotus flowers native to my father’s northern Iranian town of Bandar-e-Anzali, across the middle we had scripted lines of our favourite Swedish love poetry which read: ‘But I want to follow you through winter and spring, and all the days of my life.' Rebecca even embroidered a single butterfly in the corner of the veil for my mother, as her name ‘Parvaneh’ means butterfly in Iranian. This was such a special part of our day which symbolised a lot to us, to have the sugar fall onto the Swedish poetry and weaving our two cultures together. Ossian’s three nieces and nephew were our flower girls and page boy walking out into the ceremony to the sound of Pauline (@harpistpauline) playing traditional Persian songs on the harp. My father then followed and it felt so surreal seeing all our family dressed so beautifully and seated for our ceremony. Our aghd was conducted by my dear uncle who speaks both Persian and Swedish and Ossian had even learnt some Persian to be able to say his parts correctly. We had a drinks reception in the Sculpture Courtyard before moving over to our table in the South Courtyard just opposite. We used the digital screens in the museum lobby to display our table plan in a clear, modern way. The South Courtyard is an incredible space echoing the tall glass ceilings of the Sculpture Courtyard alongside a large textured copper wall. We were seated on one long table adorned with floral displays and our white marble slabs. Our whole day was beautifully captured through photography and videography by Karin Lundin and her team (@karinlundinstudio) and we also had a content creator Veronika Szwejk (@veronikashoots) who captured lots of the behind-the-scenes.
