Indico.UN upgraded to v3.11
Indico.UN has been upgraded to version v3.11. This was a much anticipated release as it carried with it two major upgrades of the base Indico software with several new features regarding and improvements regarding pricavy, registration form and accessibility. Here below you can read a non-exhaustive list of these new features and improvements.
Privacy
Privacy settings for events, where category and event managers can set the event's data retention in compliance with the required range of minimum 5 and maximum 10 years (starting from the end date of an event), data controller, and privacy notice. It is also possible ot add a privacy information menu on the event page.
Data retention policy settings configurable per registration form. This setting refers to the period for which participant registration data will be stored in the system. Data must be stored for a MINIMUM of 5 years or 261 weeks (default) and a MAXIMUM of 10 years or 521 weeks after the event's closing date. This setting can be edited in the registration form's privacy settings. The data retention policy can be configured independently for individual fields in the registration form.
Participants can now be asked to agree with the privacy policy of the event when registering. They can now express their consent to appear in the list of participants and to whom their participation can be visible.
Registration forms
A new "accompanying persons" field type was introduced to the fields that can be configured in a registration form. This field, as it conveys, allows participants to indicate if they will be attending with other people. Alongside this new field, conference managers can configure the registration form so that digital badges are generated not only for the participant for also for their accompanying persons.
A new "accommodation" field was also introduced the registration form, which allows conference managers to list accommodation choices, including prices, allowing participants to indicate their choice while registering.
Conference managers can also now configure registration forms to require participants without Indico.UN profile to answer a CAPTCHA before registering.
Conference managers can allow participants to modify their registration on a per-registrant basis regardless of the registration form settings.
The participant list can now be configured to display the uploaded picture of participants.
Events
It is now possible to enforce a language in the event settings, overriding the language selected by the user. This is useful when it's important that there is no mix of languages in the event (e.g. system-defined menu entries, which are translated, vs. user-defined menu entries, which are not).
Conference managers can configure the access control list of event pages, making it possible for pages to be visible only to a limited group of users or registered participants.
Indico now supports the generation of fully customizable PDF documents. Conference can now create receipts, certificates of attendance or any other they might need. Once generated, participants can download their documents from the registration page.
Others
Users can now be anonymized in Indico; this means that all personal identifiers associated with a user will be removed from Indico, whilst only keeping the data that is required for Indico to function properly, in an anonymized manner. Because this is a rarely needed and a heavily destructive operation, it can only be performed by Indico system administrators through the indico command-line interface.
In addition to this, users can now export a copy of all their personal data stored in Indico (data portability).
