Temporal bone involvement is quite common among the involved sites. The etiology is unknown. Diagnosis is based on symptoms, imaging, and histopathology. Especially LCH in temporal bone is confused with acute or subacute otitis media. There are many treatment options in LCH. Case presentation Here, a 2-year-old pediatric patient with pain in the right ear was diagnosed as having LCH as a result of the examinations. MRG revealed multiple lesions in the temporal bone, sphenoid bone, and clivus. She was treated with steroids and vinblastine. Conclusion Possible tumoral formations should be kept in mind when children complain of otalgia and otitis media-like clinical picture for a long time.

A 33-year-old woman presented with vertigo at 28 weeks of the gestation. After physical examination and audiological and vestibular tests, vestibular neuritis was diagnosed, and the treatment was initiated. The patient completely recovered without any complaints; neither vestibular nor gynecological. There are few studies in the literature pointing out the evaluation of pregnant women with vestibular neuritis. However, there are safe ways to manage such patients.

We also investigated the value of the nine-step inflation/deflation test and otoscopic findings before and immediately after the initial HBOT session in predicting barotrauma in an attempt to establish some criteria for prophylaxis. The study was conducted on 36 ears of 18 adults who had no history of eustachian tube dysfunction. Patients were being treated with HBOT for sudden hearingloss, wound-healing complications, or complications of diabetes. After 7 days of HBOT, barotrauma was seen in 12 of the 18 patients (66.7%) and in 18 of the 36 ears (50.0%). Twenty-one rats were divided into two groups: the control group and the noise group. As high as 115 dB sound pressure of white noise was administered to the noise group of 16 rats for 3 h a day for 10 days. This group was further split into four subgroups based on the timing of sacrifice: 3rd hour group, 12th hour group, 24th hour group, and 28th day group. To gain insight into the mechanism of antibody-induced hearing loss, we used antibody immunoaffinity purification to isolate the IESCA, which was then sequenced by mass spectroscopy, revealing 10 guinea pig peptides identical to sequences in human choline transporter-like protein 2 (CTL2). Full-length CTL2 cDNA sequenced from guinea pig inner ear has 85.9% identity with the human cDNA. Consistent with its expression on the surface of supporting cells in the inner ear, CTL2 contains 10 predicted membrane-spanning regions with multiple N-glycosylation sites. The 68 and 72 kDa molecular forms of inner ear CTL2 are distinguished by sialic acid modification of the carbohydrate. In this double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study we aimed to assess the effectiveness o... more In this double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study we aimed to assess the effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy for treating patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Of the 71 patients, 37 were allocated to the HBO group and 34 to the control (normal air) group. Both groups received 15 therapy sessions in a hyperbaric chamber. Pain, oedema and range of motion (ROM) of the wrist were evaluated before treatment, after the 15th treatment session and on day 45. In the HBO group there was a significant decrease in pain and oedema and a significant increase in the ROM of the wrist. When we compared the two groups, the HBO group had significantly better results with the exception of wrist extension. In conclusion, HBO is an effective and well-tolerated method for decreasing pain and oedema and increasing the ROM in patients with CRPS.
