This research was aim to improve soil fertility and maize yields by applying Local Microorganisms (LoM) solution and lime. The research was carried out on dry land area in Mandalawangi Subdistrict, Pandeglang, and Cimarga Subdistrict, Lebak, Banten from June to December 2016. This field experiment was done using Randomized Block Design, where the treatments were three levels of fertilization packages, i.e. (1) 300 kg Urea + 150 kg SP36 + 100 kg KCl; (2) 300 kg Urea + 150 kg SP36 + 100 kg KCl + 1 ton manure + 1 ton lime; (3) 300 kg Urea + 150 kg SP36 + 100 kg KCl + 1 ton manure + Local Microorganism (LoM) solution. The research results show that applicaton of LoM solution and lime significantly improved soil biology. The application of lime and LoM solution increased soil respiration, where level of soil respiration was higher on the application LoM solution than lime. One of the efforts is to increase production with the intercropping pattern (Turiman). The program sustainability must be supported by strong farmer institutions. This study aimed to obtain the information about the farmer groups institution as a strong capital for sustainable farming. This study used a qualitative approach with data related to the assessment problem. This study also used relevant literature to learn the correlation between empirical facts and government programs. The study was conducted in June 2019 in Babakan Village, Majalengka Sub District, Majalengka Regency, West Java Province on 100 respondents. Land is one of the main factors in rice production. However, the transfer of agricultural land fu... more Land is one of the main factors in rice production. However, the transfer of agricultural land functions to other sectors continues and becomes a challenge in the food supply in Indonesia. Serang City is one of the rice-producing areas in Banten Province. This study aims to analyze changes in the transfer of rice field functions to other sectors by mapping rice field cover using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery in 2021 compared to 2019 with the Random Forest method by using Google Earth Engine (GEE) applications and cloud computing support. The study results showed that the cover of rice fields in Serang City in 2021 decreased by 602.87 ha (-7.20%) compared to 2019 from the total land cover. Land cover in other vegetation was also reduced by 242 ha (-2.45%), while urban land cover in 2021 increased by 781.82 ha (10.89%). This study shows that there has been a change in land transfer in Serang City due to urban expansion in 3 years, as well as that the use of GEE can streamline monitorin...

Lima aksesi jahe putih kecil dari daerahmarginal ditanam dalam polibag dan disusun menggunakan rancanganacak kelompok yang diulang 3 kali. Setiap perlakuan terdiri atas 20tanaman. Acid mine drainage, by-products of mining activities, is an acidic sulfate-rich wastewater suitable habitat for sulfate reducing bacteria. Isolation and identification of sulfate reducing bacteria collected from Muara Enim coal mining, South Sumatra was carried out at Laboratory of Environmental Biotechnology, Indonesian Center for Biodiversity and Biotechnology (ICBB), Bogor, and Laboratory of Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary, Bogor Agricultural University. Postgate B liquid media was used for isolation and purification via serial dilution. Physiological and biochemical characterization was done based on Bergeys Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb. contain yellow pigments known as curcuminoids (curcumin, bidesmetoxicur... more Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb. contain yellow pigments known as curcuminoids (curcumin, bidesmetoxicurcumin and monodesmetoxicurcumin), protein, phosphorus, potassium, iron and vitamin C, with curcumin as the highest component (50-60%). Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb. has been used widely for treatment of lack of appetite, stomach ulcers, eczema, and acne. Its mainly the effect of curcumin compound. Curcumin has a low bioavailability and poor-water solubility, to enhance it properties, the curcumin convert to nanocurcumin. Nanocurcumins stabilized by Tween 80 were prepared by homogenization. The research was able to produce nanocurcumin with the droplet size less than 100 nm from Curcumin solution, by using a variation of the stirring speed (8,944, 10,822 and 12,879 g), time (20-40 min) and curcumin concentratiom (20 and 30%).
