Abstract: Thanks to a temporary excavation in a disused sand quarry located in Le Quoniam, Haravilliers (Val d'Oise), it has been possible to again study deposits from the basal " Marinesian " , notably a bed commonly named Mortefontaine Member, and their contact with the Auversian. Although previously studied by MORELLET & MORELLET (1922), our digs allowed us to further investigate their stratigraphy and paleontological content. Six gastropod species have been identified, which are new for the Mortefontaine Member. Bony fish otoliths, belonging to four species, are also reported, for the first time from this level
