Here we present two further new strains (HGS-45: coccusshaped and HGF-47: rod-shaped and vibrioid) of thermotolerant obligate proteobacterial methanotrophic bacteria, which were isolated from an abandoned tropical natural gas field wet soil sample in the northeast of Bangladesh. Strains are Gram-negative, nonmotile, and capable of growth on methane and methanol as their energy sources. Isolates are thermotolerant and could grow up to 52oC, optimally at 42oC, but show no growth at 55 or 15oC. The unsteady magneto hydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible non-N... more The unsteady magneto hydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible non-Newtonian Casson fluid bounded by two parallel non- conducting porous plates with porous medium in studied with heat transfer considering the Hall effect. An external uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plates and the fluid motion is subjected to a uniform section and injection. The lower plate is stationary and the upper plate is suddenly set into motion and simultaneously suddenly isothermally heated to a temperature other than the lower plate temperature. At first the system of equations have transformed by usual transformation into a non-dimensional form. After that, the non-similar partial differential equations have solved numerically by Crank-Nicolson implicit finite difference. The results of this study have discussed for the different values of the well-known parameters with different time step.

Here, we report a unique moderately thermophilic methanol-oxidising bacterium (strain LS7-MT) that grows optimally at 55 °C (with a growth range spanning 30 to 60 °C). The pure isolate was recovered from a methane-utilizing mixed culture enrichment from an alkaline thermal spring in the Ethiopia Rift Valley, and utilized methanol, methylamine, glucose and a variety of multi-carbon compounds. Phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences demonstrated that strain LS7-MT represented a new facultatively methylotrophic bacterium within the order Hyphomicrobiales of the class Alphaproteobacteria. Here, we report a novel moderately thermophilic Methylococcus-like Type Ib methanotroph recovered from an alkaline thermal spring (55.4 °C and pH 8.82) in the Ethiopian Rift Valley. The isolate, designated LS7-MC, most probably represents a novel species of a new genus in the family Methylococcaceae of the class Gammaproteobacteria. In order to examine the influence of Reynolds number and Knudsen number on the velocity distributions, a series of simulations are performed for different Reynolds and Knudsen numbers. Nitrogen gas is used as working fluid and we assume the fluid as continuum but employ the slip boundary conditions on the walls. The Navier-Stokes and energy equations are solved simultaneously. The results are found in good agreement with those predicted by analytical solutions in 2D continuous flow model employing first order slip boundary conditions. It is concluded that the rarefaction flattens the velocity distribution. Wall heating condition was considered on the walls. Noslip boundary conditions for compressible and incompressible flows were also solved to compare the effect of slip conditions. Compressibility effects were also investigated for compressible slip and compressible noslip flow conditions. A series of simulations were performed for different heights and lengths of channels and pressure ratios. Results are presented in graphs and tables and are compared with the available analytical and experimental results. It was found that the friction constants are the highest for noslip compressible flow and lowest for the slip flow against pressure ratio and mach numbers.
