Abstract Aggressive driving is a key contributor to traffic incidents which deteriorate traffic f... more Abstract Aggressive driving is a key contributor to traffic incidents which deteriorate traffic flow, increase traffic congestion, and pose serious threats to driver and passenger safety. This paper presents a methodology for the estimation of driver aggressiveness and detection of traffic incidents using a game-theory based controller. We first present a game theory-based controlling mechanism, in which a witness vehicle (vehicle A) interacts with an aggressive vehicle (vehicle B) to estimate the aggressiveness of and to predict the future behavior of vehicle B. Second, we use a probe vehicle framework to detect incidents. Third, we apply shockwave theory to identify the location of the incident. Results show that the proposed method can estimate the aggressiveness of vehicle B with a high degree of accuracy. Numerical results obtained through simulation show that the proposed method obtains a better incident detection rate with more than 90% of the incidents detected, on average, with a nearly 91% classification rate and lower false alarm rate than three commonly used methods. It also requires less time to clear the traffic incident. The information obtained from the proposed system can be used to reduce traffic accidents caused by aggressive driving, thereby improving the safety of both drivers and passengers.

The number of eggs is an important method to evaluate the pest situation, which can be estimated by the area of egg mass. The traditional manual method is inefficient, but the new method of egg mass image recognition improves the efficiency of eggs number estimation. In this paper, the optimized Faster-RCNN target detection algorithm was used to recognize the egg mass image of Spodoptera frugiperda. The Maximum Between-Class Variance method (Otsu) was used for threshold segmentation to obtain the position, shape and size of the egg mass and calculate the area of the egg mass. The mean value of the relative error of the egg mass area in the test samples was -0.02032, and the minimum value was -0.00047. The experimental results show that the egg area calculation method proposed in this paper is fast and accurate, which can meet the requirements of egg area measurement.

The new framework is consisted of three phases. Firstly, the input images are processed by the multilook processing with their sparse coefficients using the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) method. So to overcome these issues, we need to establish an efficient security mechanism for data protection in IoT systems. Advanced Encryption standard is one of the popular security protocols for IoT systems. The main disadvantage of this standard is power consumption for large sized IoT networks. In this paper we proposed an novel mechanism for secure communication in large sized IoT systems. In our design, we use a Hash based Message Authentication Code (HMAC) and a privacy-preserving communication protocol for chaos-based encryption. We observe that proposed mechanism consumes relatively less power over AES with less storage resources.
