The greater the baby born increase the risk o perinal rupture. The form of rupture is usually iireguler so that the torn tissue is difficult to suture. Factor that affect the perineal rupture include newborn weight,maternal position,method of delivery and leadership of labor in all first deliveries and not infrequently at subsequent labor. But this can be avoided or recuded by holding the perinal strain passed by the fetal head qickly. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between birth weight of infants and the inciden of perineal rupture in normal labor Caringin health center. This research method uses descriptive methods using secondary data. The samples taken were 92 respondents using the purposive method. The results of the study were based on the results o result rom weighing< 2500 grams, 5 people (35,7%) who had a level 1 perineum rupture there were 9 people (64,3%). On birth weigh 2500-4000 grams with the number of respondent 71 respondents, 16 peoples (20,5%) who experienced rupture level 2 and 3, 62 people (79,5%) and did not find a baby born with a body weight of > 400 grams ( macrosomia). Conclusions and suggestions based on the result o analysis carried out using the chi square statistical test of 92 respondents obtained p value = 0.297 greater than p value = 0.005 thus Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected which means there is no relationship between birth weight to the incidence o perineal rupture. To recude the incidence of perineum rupture, midwives are expected to perineal massage. Keyword : baby’s birth weight, perinal rupture.
