Consumer choice and behavior are changing and focusing on comfortable clothing along with fitting... more Consumer choice and behavior are changing and focusing on comfortable clothing along with fitting. Elastic yarn or fabric is necessary to achieve this comfortableness. By making elastic yarn and using elastic material in fabric production, elastic cloths are produced with proper stretchability and recovery. For that, core-spun yarn was used, but due to a lack of recovery performance, dual core-spun yarn has been developed. Different elastane ratios, linear density, and filaments were used in the dual core-spun yarn according to achieve desired stretchability. In this study, denim fabric performances were evaluated by designing different composite/hybrid dual core-spun yarn with a combination of cotton fiber and filaments. Different elastane linear densities with different filaments, PET/PTT, PTT, and PET, were used, and it was found that using finer elastane in dual core-spun yarn, strength, and unevenness are increased, and elongation decreased. It is accepted that the main problem of chenille yarn is loss of mass from abrasion. This study examines the mass loss from both theoretical and practical consideration. It is shown that the compressive force on pile yarn fibres increases and the contact area between pile and lock yarn through which compressive forces are transmitted decreases, as pile yarn count (Ne) increases.

Fantezi iplikler ve onun bir türü olan şantuklu iplikler bu kapsamda önem taşımaktadır. Şantuklu iplikler değişik iplik üretim sistemleriyle çeşitli yapılarda üretilebilmektedir. Şantuklu ipliklerin üretim sistemleri ve iplik kalite değerlerinin ölçüm yöntemleri üzerine Ar-Ge faaliyetleri devam etmektedir. Bildiri kapsamında şantuklu iplik üretim teknolojisi ve yeni gelişmeler hakkında bilgi verilecektir. Şantuklu iplikler en yaygın olarak ring iplik makinesine ilave edilen donanımlar yardımıyla üretilmektedir. Bunun yanında yardımcı donanımlarla ring ipliğine elastan dahil edilmesi de mümkün olduğundan "elastan içerikli şantuklu iplik" üretimi olanaklı hale gelmektedir. In this study, a modification of a conventional ring spinning is explained for producing core-spun yarns which contain elastane. This modification is applied for a 56 spindles ring spinning machine which is situated in the Çukurova University Textile Engineering Department Laboratory made by using purely domestic interests. Abstract This study focused on predicting tensile properties of PES/CV/PAN blended Open-End Rotor... more Abstract This study focused on predicting tensile properties of PES/CV/PAN blended Open-End Rotor yarns. The effective factors were fiber blend ratios (six stages from 0 to 100%), linear density (three count levels), mixing method (carding machine and drawframe), and number of passages in drawframe (one and two times) as production parameters. We performed a stepwise multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis and established an artificial neural network (ANN) model that trained with backpropagation rule as Levenberg–Marquardt. Then, we conducted a comparative analysis for both models in terms of prediction performance. As a result, ANN has given a slightly better prediction values than MLR for breaking strength but significantly better prediction values for breaking elongation.
