I was the statistician/director at the Population Studies Center of the National Population and Family Development Board for 18 years before moving to University of Malaya (UM) in 1992 where I officially retired in 2005. I continue to work at UM as a researcher and as coordinator of the Population Studies Unit until now (2018). At the same time, I am teaching demography and research methodology. We have recently published a book entitled "Who Says I am Retired". I hold a Master of Population Planning from the University of Michigan and Ph.D. from UM.
