There is no doubtthat the current approach is either in the form of concepts, principles, theories or models that have beenused to analyse and understand the discipline of consumption in theory and practice. However, the currentapproach which is based on ‘tasawwur’ and Western epistemology are not suitable to be applied to theculture of the East, especially the Muslim community because of the differences in background beliefs, culture and environment. SLT is to be met to fulfill one of the requirements for accreditation by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). A survey by circulating questionnaires was conducted at UiTM Perlis Branch involving 50 first-semester students from various faculties. The purpose of the study is to identify the effectiveness of the use of SLT for course code CTU101 (Fundamentals of Islam). This study found that 100% of the respondents can fulfill hours of face-to-face (F2F) learning in accordance with the provisions of the course, but 56% of the respondents were not able to use non-face-to-face (non-F2F) learning hours by a predetermined amount. This happened because students had no specific plans and were unable to discipline themselves to comply with the implementation of SLT. One hundred percent of the students agreed that SLT or non-F2F learning hours would be better if they were guided and monitored directly by the lecturers. This is to help them achieve sustainable happiness in life here and thereafter. The methods often used for this purpose are known as interpersonal communication skill and da’wah fardiyah. This is because interpersonal communication only aims at interpersonal needs and differs with the objectives in da’wah fardiyah. On the other hand, da’wah fardiyah fulfills not only the relationship between human interaction but also the vertical relationship with Allah SWT. Thus, this conceptual p...
