Like a loud noise in a quite environment. Saliency is the contrastic difference between the visually attracted items and their neighbourhood. Detecting such attracted areas in the image is termed to be saliency detection. Salient region detection can be broadly classified into contrast based method, learning based, rarity based method. Applications of saliency detection are image compression, adaptive content display and rendering, diversification of an image, collage creation, image resizing, object recognition, image retrieval, filter design, and image retargeting etc. Salient object detection aim at finding most salient object in a scene. Every saliency detection algorithm begin with extracting features. The output is typically a single saliency map.Image saliency can reflect the visual important of each pixel. In general, the image pixels in the significant regions should get high saliency values, while those pixels in the unimportant areas should get lower saliency values.
