This document presents the technical layout and the envisaged performance of the Electromagnetic ... more This document presents the technical layout and the envisaged performance of the Electromagnetic Calorimeter (EMC) for the PANDA target spectrometer. The EMC has been designed to meet the physics goals of the PANDA experiment, which is being developed for the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) at Darmstadt, Germany. The performance figures are based on extensive prototype tests and radiation hardness studies. The document shows that the EMC is ready for construction up to the front-end electronics interface.
Fermilab experiment E-760 has confirmed the f2(1520) state in the 3pio final state in antiproton-... more Fermilab experiment E-760 has confirmed the f2(1520) state in the 3pio final state in antiproton-proton annihilations in-flight (~3.0 to 3.6 GeV c.m. energy), seen previously by Crystal Barrel and other groups at CERN at rest. The f2(1520) is also seen in its 2pio decay mode in the 2pioeta channel and 2eta decay mode in the pio2eta channel. There are indications of this state in the 3eta decay channel. The invariant mass spectrum is rich in states near 2 GeV, and amplitude and spin/parity analysis of the Dalitz plot is in progress in this mass region.

The cross sections of the reactions pp -> phiphi, phiK+K- and 4K+/- have been measured by the ... more The cross sections of the reactions pp -> phiphi, phiK+K- and 4K+/- have been measured by the JETSET (PS202) experiment at CERN in the invariant mass range from 2.15 to 2.43 GeV/c2. A spin-parity analysis of the phiphi system has been performed. The absolute value of the phiphi cross section and the ratios sigma(phiphi)/sigma(phiK+K-), sigma(phiphi)/sigma(4K+/-) are large, in marked violation of the OZI rule. Waves of quantum numbers JPC = 2+= give the dominant contribution near threshold.
The resonance parameters of the χc0, the 13P0 state of charmonium, have been measured at the Ferm... more The resonance parameters of the χc0, the 13P0 state of charmonium, have been measured at the Fermilab Antiproton Accumulator in the reaction p̄p→χc0→γJ/ψ→γ(e+e−). A large data sample collected during the year 2000 run yields the results: M(χc0)=3415.4±0.4±0.2 MeV/c2, Γ(χc0)=9.8±1.0±0.1 MeV, B(χc0→p̄p)×B(χc0→γJ/ψ)×B(J/ψ→(e+e−))=(1.61±0.11±0.08)×10−7. Taking B(χc0→γJ/ψ) and B(J/ψ→e+e−) from the literature, we obtain B(χc0→p̄p)=(4.1±0.3+1.6−0.9)×10−4 and Γ(χc0→p̄p)=(4.0±0.4+1.6−0.9) keV.
