Small robots will likely to get into voids and go deeper than the 18-20 feet that a camera on a probe or a borescope can go into. The ground robots would be used to try to understand the internal layout of the structure and to avoid a secondary collapse, for example. In this paper are presented some results on the attempt to create a low cost mapping and guiding system suitable for small robots based on low cost LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) devices. The aim was to create the mapping and guiding system minimizing the costs and maximizing the performances and capabilities.

Processing and safety tests, together with performance parameters, show that it is possible to include 1% graphene without radically modifying the main performances, meanwhile increasing the processing capability.

Technology affects various aspects of conflicts and is therefore a critical component of defence planning and they are influencing the other components of a military capability. New technologies have often shaped strategies and tactics, and inspired the development of defence innovations. Understanding all aspects of new Emerging Disruptive Technologies will help decision makers not only to put up an effective planning, but to reduce the time between need statement and delivery and to avoid collateral issues that could occur in using them.

Pe de o parte, se incearcă asistarea deciziei cu diferite instrumente, inclusiv computerizate, in vederea limitării erorilor și a timpului necesar luării acesteia, dar, pe de altă parte, tocmai mediatizarea respectivelor instrumente creează un alt mod de asimetrie, inamicul având cunoștințe detaliate despre aceasta putând să le utilizeze in propriul folos. In acest articol, se face o trecere in revistă a ceea ce reprezintă actul decizional militar și a influențelor pe care educația și experiența comandanților le pot avea in limitarea sau, dimpotrivă, in creșterea asimetriei conflictelor.
