Therefore, the overall objective of this study was to examine the current status of customer satisfaction and major determinants contributing to customer satisfaction in the major tourist recommended hotels of Gondar City. SERVQUAL model was employed in the assessment of customer satisfaction and its determinants of the hotel. The data were collected using a questionnaire containing 7 questions based on 22 variables of the five dimensions of Tangibility, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy. Fifty both domestic and foreign customers of the hotel were randomly selected. The questionnaire also prepared for among hotel staffs that were on operational level and the interview with managerial level staff were conducted to enrich the findings. This work was assessed the potential suitable areas for ecotourism based on biophysical characteristics of the land ecosystems and socio-economic data. These are landscape (land use land cover), vegetation density (species diversity), topography (elevation and slope) and accessibility (distance from roads). These criteria and factors were selected according to the professional expert‟s opinions. First, a resource inventory and a list of ecotourism criteria were developed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method. However, attempts to improve sustainability of these enterprises have often proved misguided largely due to poor understanding of issues affecting owners/ managers. So, the objective of this research was to assess a range of factors that would determine sustainability of micro and small scale food and beverage outlets. To this end, an in-depth interview together with document consultation was employed to complement each other. Samples were taken from tea rooms, hotels, butcher shops, cafeterias, restaurants, traditional dish houses, juice house, and groceries.
