In the context of miniaturization of microwave systems that this paper is aimed at. We have desig... more In the context of miniaturization of microwave systems that this paper is aimed at. We have designed a novel miniaturized 2.45 GHz antenna dedicated to operate for wireless power transmission applications. At first, the antenna was radiating at 5.8 GHz with the optimal dimentions, then, and by conserving the same size, we have switched the operating frequency to 2.45 GHz by using a novel configuration of Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The final structure have been designed and optimized by using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio .The obtained results confirm the proper functioning of the antenna.

The antenna structures are based on the CPW-fed combined with a slot and a stub line to increase the bandwidth. The proposed antennas have been successfully designed, optimized and simulated by using Momentum software integrated into ADS “Advanced Design System” and CST Microwave Studio. The measured input impedance bandwidth of the final broadband antennas ranging from 2.17.3 GHz and 2.1-11 GHz. The design considerations for achieving broadband antennas and both simulated, experimental results are presented and discussed.

The proposed antenna is suitable to operate at three different frequency bands, (1.77GHz-2.67GHz), (3.1GHz4.58GHz), and (5.5GHz-6.5GHz) with a return loss less than -10dB. The antenna structure includes a CPW fed line, the technique used to enlarge the frequency bands is the slots technique and in the same time we have developed a new antenna structure which operates in various wireless communication applications. The antenna parameters have been investigated and optimized by using CST Microwave Studio. To validate the CST Microwave Studio results before the antenna achievement, we have conducted another study by using ADS. The final circuit was achieved, measured and validated. This paper presents the design of new compact antennas for ultra wide band applications. Each ant... more This paper presents the design of new compact antennas for ultra wide band applications. Each antenna consists of a rectangular patch fed by 50Ω microstrip transmission line and the ground element is a defected ground structure (DGS). The aim of this study is to improve the bandwidth of these antennas by using DGS and the modification geometry of rectangular structure, which gives new compact antennas for UWB applications. The input impedance bandwidth of the antennas with S11<-10dB is more than 10GHz, from 3GHz to more than 14 GHz. The proposed antennas are investigated and optimized by using CST microwave studio, they are validated by using another electromagnetic solver Ansoft HFSS. The measured parameters present good agreement with simulation. The final antenna structures offer excellent performances for UWB system.

In this paper a design of a new antenna with modified ground plane is validated for multiband app... more In this paper a design of a new antenna with modified ground plane is validated for multiband applications. The proposed modified ground structure is incorporated with a patch antenna to boost the performance. The antenna’s entire area is 59.5x47mm2 and is printed on an FR-4 substrate and fed by a 50 Ohm microstrip line. This structure is validated in the GPS (1.56-1.58 GHz) band at 1.57 GHz, in the ISM (2.43-2.49 GHz) band at 2.45GHz and in the WiMAX (3.50-3.56 GHz) band at 3.53 GHz. These three frequency bands have good matching input impedance for, S11≤-10 dB. The antenna presents a good performance in terms of radiation pattern, and it is designed, optimized, and miniaturized by using CST-MW whose results are compared with other solvers HFSS and ADS. The results obtained by the use of the three EM solvers are in good agreement. After realization, we have tested and validated this antenna. The measurement results of the antenna present a good agreement with the numerical results.

The optimized proposed antenna is suitable to operate a large frequency-band range from 0.8GHz to 1.3GHz with a bandwidth of 500MHz with a return loss less than -10dB. The antenna is based on a 1.6mm thickness FR4 epoxy substrate with a reduce dimensions compared to the simple rectangular antenna and size of proposed antenna is 47*40mm2. A novel and compact multi-band stop filter using two different structures of circular DGS and cir... more A novel and compact multi-band stop filter using two different structures of circular DGS and circular DGS loaded with O-DGS unit, has good selectivity and wide upper pass band performance with good rejection based on defected ground structure (DGS) integrating a circular ring resonator to suppress undesired spurious bands frequency or harmonics in radio frequency and microwave circuits is proposed. An equivalent circuit model has been derived for the both structures of circular DGS and circular DGS loaded. The presented filter has a compact size because the circular ring resonator is integrated in DGS, the both of them are etching in the ground plane. The proposed filter presents an optimization method for generating multi-band characteristics without using a periodic cells or other complicate topology.
