Cyrek, Muzeum Archeologiczne i Etnograficzne, Łodź), operied in 1978, were continued. Exploration of a flint workshop, related to a camp, was concluded, revealing several thousand flint artifacts with a late Palaeolithic character. The second season of excavations at Plonka-Strumianka (6), Bialystok province (E. Gieysztor-Szymczak, Panstwowe Muzeum Archeologiczne, Warszawa) produced a further 6 thousand flint artifacts representing the late Palaeolithic industry of the Masovian cycle with local characteristics. In the fifth season at the site of Januszkowo Kujawskie (5), Bydgoszcz province (A. Prinke, Muzeum Archeologiczne, Poznan) the exploration of an extensive concentration of flint artifatcs was concluded. The early Neolithic date of the complex and its association with the Komornica culture were confirmed.

It gives the over-all characteristics of chipped stone industrie of the cultural identities of period of the Young Eneolithic in Moravia (the Jevisovice nad Bosaca) and Czech Silesia (the Globular Amphorae). A brief intrusion of the Bosaca culture into terrories of east Bohemia (Obědovice) has been also taken into account. In general, lithic materials of the period in question indicate continuation of Early nad Middle Eneolithic chipping traditions. Howewer, there can be observed the first signs of the changes in management of stone material which would become emblematic for the Late Eneolithic. The most significant element of these changes is increasing use of local rocks and decreasing importance of imported raw materials.

This specific siliceous rock was first recognized in archaeological assemblages and described in the literature without reference to its natural sources. Its importance as a raw material became evident after the research of the Late Neolithic (Eneolithic) settlement complex at Bronocice. Surface survey and excavations in 1980s and 1990s determined that artifacts of that rock, especially axes with quadrilateral section and precores for long blades, were being produced on a large scale in specialized workshops in the central part of the Cracow-Częstochowa Upland, mainly in the Krztynia River region. In 2003 there was discovered a probable mining place, located close to the workshop site at Huta Szklana. Extraction and processing places in that region were probably seasonally used by people from Bronocice and other sites linked with the Funnel Beaker-Baden horizon on the Lesser Poland Western loess areas. The authors propose a hypothetic model of relation between the settlement at Bronocice and the flint processing site at Huta Szklana. Lithic production, performed both at workshop and on the domestic site, was focused on axes and long blades. A substantial part of the production was intended to export, especially southwards to the milieu of the Baden culture.
