Remaining antioxidant assays like DPPH radical scavenging assay, H2O2 scavenging assay, and Fe2+ chelating assay showed more antioxidant properties in ethyl acetate extract and nonpolar solvent extracts like n- hexane, and chloroform respectively. Antioxidant properties of Areca catechu L. nut varied depending upon the different solvent extract.

Among many diseases, allergy appears to be a serious problem for human beings. Various forms of a... more Among many diseases, allergy appears to be a serious problem for human beings. Various forms of allergic disorders make people tense, leading to some other health issues. Many medications, including nonracemic and racemic ones, are used to treat this problem. It is important to have exact analysis strategies just to see any medication side effects, plasma profiles, and working efficiency. Therefore, efforts are made to review simple and chiral HPLC methods for antiallergic drugs; HPLC is the best analytical technique. The highlights in this article include the world scenario, causes of allergy, the effect of allergy on the economy, the mechanism of allergy in humans, classes of antiallergic drugs, simple drugs, chiral drugs, analysis by HPLC, and the chiral recognition mechanism. Moreover, attempts are also made to highlight the management of allergies and future perspectives.

The chiral separation of econazole, an antifungal drug with one chiral center has been successful... more The chiral separation of econazole, an antifungal drug with one chiral center has been successfully carried out using the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. Enantioresolution of econazole (Rs = 2.29) was achieved using cyclodextrin-based chiral column (Astec Cyclobond, 25 cm × 4.6 mm × 5 μm), mobile phase composition of acetonitrile : water (0.2% HCOOH) (20:80, v/v), and UV detection of 220 nm.The optimized HPLC method has been applied for the quantitative determination of econazole in the pharmaceutical (liquid) sample withpercentage recovery of 100.75 % (RSD = 0,95%; n = 3). The effect of several HPLC parameters on the chiral separation of econazole was also evaluated and the method was successfully validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, precision, and selectivity. The present HPLC method was simple, short analysis time, and high resolution.

An accurate, sensitive and reproducible High Performance Liquid Chromatographic (HPLC) method for... more An accurate, sensitive and reproducible High Performance Liquid Chromatographic (HPLC) method for the quantitation of Ciprofloxacin in plasma using Acebutolol as the internal standard has been developed and validated. The procedure involves protein precipitation with 7% perchloric acid. The drug and the internal standard were eluted from a 4-μm stainless steel Novapak C18 column (3.9 x 150 mm) with an average particle size of 4 μm at room temperature with isocratic mobile phase consisting of 10.5% acetonitrile in sodium dihydrogen phosphate buffer (pH 3.9), at a flow rate of 2 ml/min., and monitored in a fluorescence detector set at excitation wavelength 280 nm and emission wavelength 455 nm. Each analysis required no longer than 14 min. Most of them are chiral compounds and are clinically administered as the racemic mixture, even though its enantiomers have been known to exert different pharmacological activity. Liquid chromatography using chiral stationary phases (CSP) proved to be an essential tool with a wide range of applications, including analysis of the stereochemistry of natural compounds. This review gives an overview of chiral separation alkaloids that were used in theoretical studies and/or applications in recent years. It shows the possibilities of polysaccharide CSPs have now also been established as the first-choice of chiral phases for enantiomer separation.

This article describes a novel HPLC method able to quantify four active substances: tylosin tartr... more This article describes a novel HPLC method able to quantify four active substances: tylosin tartrate, prednisolone, chloramphenicol and vitamin B12 and one excipient benzyl alcohol for the first time in <15 min. The analysis was conducted using a HyPurity Advance chromatographic column, a binary mobile phase which contains water (60%) and methanol (40%) as organic modifiers delivered isocratically at room temperature. The detection was established to be optimum at 260 nm. Limit of detection and limit of quantification were established experimentally, using the ratio signal-to-noise methodology. The method was validated in accordance with ICH and USP guidelines with respect to selectivity, linearity, limits of detection and quantitation, accuracy, precision and robustness and was applied on commercial available veterinary drug.
