Outgoing with humor and a passion for understanding alcohol beverage flavor, origins, sensory descriptors, controls and understanding sensory perceptions. Runs Brewing and Distilling Analytical Services (BDAS) and now BDES (Educational Services) in KY, USA. Ph.D. in Biochemistry - ribosomes, antibiotics and protein synthesis. Then fell into brewing analytics at the oldest brewing school in the US and later distilled beverages analysis in the heart of Bourbon territory. BDAS, LLC now had a second facility in Denver CO. Gary was recently appointed as the first lead science editor for the Journal of Distilling Science (JDS) to be associated with the Society of Distilling Scientists and Technologists (SDST).
