We quantitatively measure the nanomechanical dynamics of a water surface excited by the radiation... more We quantitatively measure the nanomechanical dynamics of a water surface excited by the radiation pressure of a Gaussian/annular laser beam of incidence near total internal reflection (TIR). Notably, the radiation pressure near TIR allowed us to induce a pushing force (Abraham’s momentum of light) for a wide annular Gaussian beam excitation of the thin-film regime of water, which, to the best of our knowledge, has never been observed with nanometric precision previously. Our finding suggests that the observation of either/both Abraham’s and Minkowski’s theories can be witnessed by the interplay between optics and fluid mechanics. Furthermore, we demonstrate the first, to the best of our knowledge, simultaneous measurement of Abraham’s and Minkowski’s momenta emerging in a single setup with a single laser shot. However, challenges arise for nanofluid (NF) and soft bio-fluid systems where the direct interaction of the laser generates an intriguing interplay between heating, momentum, and scattering forces which can even damage soft biofluids. Here, we report a versatile, pump-probe-based, rapid, and non-contact interferometric technique that resolves interface dynamics of complex fluids with the precision of ~1 nm in thick-film and 150 pm in thin-film regimes below the thermal limit without the use of lock-in or modulated beams. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This cross-sectional, research was accomplished from February 2021 to May 2021 among individuals experiencing dyspeptic conditions visiting Endoscopy Unit of Janakpur Provincial Hospital. All the patients were investigated for their blood group phenotype and Rhesus dependent through slide hemagglutination test. Also all the patients went through esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) in order to identify peptic ulcer disease. Gastric biopsies were acquired and evaluated for H. pylori through urease test. RESULTS: A total of 103 patients were registered in this study, which included 49 males and 54 females with a mean age of 15-77 years. The quest to realize a particle accelerator on a chip has led to the emergence of dielectric lase... more The quest to realize a particle accelerator on a chip has led to the emergence of dielectric laser accelerators (DLAs). DLAs have the capability for sustaining accelerating gradients in the GV/m regime using grating-shaped dielectric microstructures. The geometry of these microstructures is one of the decisive features affecting the accelerating gradient and energy gain. Here we present an optimization study comparing the performance of different geometrical configurations of dielectric microstructures through particle in cell (PIC) simulations, for both non-relativistic and relativistic regimes. Assuming electron beams with energies of 28 keV and 1 MeV, excited by a laser with a wavelength of 2 ¼m, pulse length of 100 fs and electric field of 1.5 GV/m, we show that even when grating parameters are the same, the design of the shape/structure plays a crucial role in the enhancement of energy gain and efficiency.

The experiment was conducted in Randomized Block Design (RBD), with twelve treatments, replicated thrice of Micronutrients and NPK. the treatments were T0 (Control (100% RDF)), T1 (NPK @ 100%), T2 (25% RDF + 75% FYM), T3 (B @ 0.3%), T4 (ZnSO4 @ 0.5% + B @ 0.3%), T5 ZnSO4 @ 0.3% + B @ 0.1%), T6 (NPK @ 100% + ZnSO4 @ 0.3%), T7 (NPK @ 50% + ZnSO4 @ 0.5%), T8 (NPK @ 100% + B @ 0.1%), T9 (NPK @ 50% + B @ 0.3%), T10 (NPK @ 100% + ZnSO4 @ 0.5% + B @ 0.3%) and T11 (NPK @ 50% + ZnSO4 @ 0.3% + B @ 0.1%). We propose a simple compact interferometer using twisted light to detect picometer displacement o... more We propose a simple compact interferometer using twisted light to detect picometer displacement on a solid or liquid surface. The heart of the interferometer lies in producing a daisy petal pattern formed by interference between two oppositely charged twisted beams. The sample being probed is an active component of the interferometer. By analyzing the rotation of the petal pattern, caused by the relative displacement between the cylindrical lens (CL) and solid/liquid surface, we exhibit picometer resolution in displacement measurements. Remarkably, we explore the significance of a radial quantum number in the measurement of surface displacement and surface tilt angle. We also investigate the arbitrary surface deformation profile with similar precision by modifying the set-up. We perform simulations in realistic experimental settings and show that they are in excellent agreement with the predictions of analytic expressions. The proposed set-up can be further miniaturized by a small focal length CL and will open routes for tremendous applications in picometer-scale displacement measurement of a solid or liquid interface by various excitations.

In the first part of the paper, the author introduces readers to the concepts of journal writing and also shares his own experience of writing reflective journals as a university student. This section also explains how he applied the same task among children in the classroom. The second part of the paper discusses the opportunities and challenges of using journal writing in the EFL classroom. The results suggest that journal writing can serve multiple purposes in the English language classroom. SUMMARYThe effects of simulated additional rain (ear wetting, 25 mm) or of rain shelter imposed a... more SUMMARYThe effects of simulated additional rain (ear wetting, 25 mm) or of rain shelter imposed at different periods after anthesis on grain quality at maturity and the dynamics of grain filling and desiccation were investigated in UK field-grown crops of wheat (Triticum aestivumL., cvar Tybalt) in 2011 and in 2012 when June–August rainfall was 255·0 and 214·6 mm, respectively, and above the decadal mean (157·4 mm). Grain filling and desiccation were quantified well by broken-stick regressions and Gompertz curves, respectively. Rain shelter for 56 (2011) or 70 days (2012) after anthesis, and to a lesser extent during late maturation only, resulted in more rapid desiccation and hence progress to harvest maturity whereas ear wetting had negligible effects, even when applied four times.
