Although plants have mechanisms to adapt to their climatic conditions, such as periods of drought and lack of precipitation, their metabolism is still affected. This study aimed to predict and evaluate the behavior of Salvia officinalis under climatic disturbances. Over a period of 4 years in a controlled environment, three treatments were applied to the plant: Treatment 1 with normal monthly average temperature and precipitation in the first year; Treatment 2 with a temperature increase of 5°C and a 50% reduction in water supply in the second year; and Treatment 3 with a temperature increase of 10°C and a 75% reduction in water supply in the fourth year. The determination of total polyphenol content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and total anthocyanin content (TA) in extracts of whole plants of P. rhoeas from three different geographical regions: Taounate (P1E), Fez (P2E), and Sefrou (P3E) were estimated by the Folin–Ciocalteu reaction, the aluminum trichloride method and the differential pH absorption technique, respectively. In the present study, essential oils (EOs) extracted from Lavandula dentata Moroccan species and its major component (linalool) were chemically characterized and their antioxidant potential and antibacterial properties against foodborne pathogenic bacteria were examined. EOs phytochemical profile was carried out using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis (GC-MS). The antioxidant potential was evaluated, in vitro, by use of the β-carotene discoloration assay and in silico vs. NADPH oxidase enzymatic complex as an antioxidant marker. A parametric analysis of the process is carried out with conditions such as particle size, pH and height of the adsorbent bed to evaluate the optimal removal percent and obtain an optimal removal capacity of the adsorbent load. Characterization of the adsorbent prior to continuous adsorption was carried out by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy. The adsorption treatment seems to be influenced by certain parameters, such as the particle size of the biomaterial used, the height of the adsorption bed and the pH. It was carried out a series of floristic and ecological studies of plants, including a study of the ruderal flora, this type of work is very nearly absent in Morocco. On one hand, the study allows us to produce a catalog of plants that exist in the study scene, and on the other hand it is a useful model for environmental education in schools. The prospecting field permitted us to collect 20 floristic surveys in 2 urban districts: Agdal and Saiss, using random sampling. The identification of the harvested species enabled to inventory 35 species divided into 30 genera grouped into 15 families. The most depicted families are Asteraceae, Poaceae. They alone provide 54% of the specific wealth. Hemicryptophytes and therophytes are dominant with 51% and 39% of the total specific effectifs. Antioxidant, antifungal and insecticidal activities of essential oil (EO) extracted from the Moro... more Antioxidant, antifungal and insecticidal activities of essential oil (EO) extracted from the Moroccan lavender (Lavandula dentata) were investigated and their chemical constituents determined. Gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyses (GC-MS) were used to examine the phytochemical composition of EO. Antioxidant potential was examined in vitro by use of three tests: DPPH inhibition, reducing power (FRAP) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC). Antifungal activity was assessed by calculating inhibition of growth of Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea and Fusarium oxysporum. Repellent potential and toxicity of EO by contact and inhalation were performed against Callosobruchus maculatus. Sixteen constituents were detected in the EO of Lavandula dentata. Our work involves the physicochemical analysis of soils at seven stations in the study area. Three surface soil samples (0-15 cm) were collected and analyzed for physical and chemical parameters using standard laboratory techniques at each station.The results showed the clay fraction's dominance in S2 and S3 and the silt fraction in stations S1, S4, S5, S6, and S7. The studied soils have low levels of organic carbon (0.97% to 2.29%), high levels of CaCO3 (10.1% to 24.9%), and neutral and slightly alkaline pH (7.01to 7.81). The most dominant element in all stations is calcium exchangeable, with values ranging from 51.52 to 74.91 cmol+/kg. The other exchangeable basic cations (Mg2+, Na+, K+) have relatively low levels. They are a formidable source of pollution because they contain microorganisms, lactose, protein, vitamins and mineral, in addition the management of these effluents concerned producers and actors of the environment. This work is primarily concerned to the biodegradation of dairy effluent by treatment with fungi. A reactor in batch culture was used in order to study the growth of fungi and removal organic matter. The inoculation is carried out by amplified fungi of the effluent and with unamplified fungi. And to improve the treatment efficiency, the biodegradation was coupled by a buffer reagent LDC 7. The results show that using amplified fungi in presence of LDC7 reagent induces a high decrease of COD with a percentage of 85%. Mass rearing was carried out for several generations followed by sorting of the seeds into four categories (N0, N1, N2 and N3) according to their degree of infestation. In addition, we performed an analysis of the infestation effect on the germination and nutritional value of the seeds. The results show that C. maculatus caused deterioration of chickpea seeds by altering several biological parameters. These damages vary according to the severity of the infestation. Seed germination decreases with the degree of infestation until complete annihilation. The same result was obtained for the length of germinating radicles.
