In general, urban vegetation is important for urban planning because it helps to maintain a balance between the natural environment and the built-up region. The assessment of the composition and configuration of the vegetation is important to highlight the urban ecosystem. Thus, obtaining information about urban vegetation is critical for developing a sustainable urban development strategy. Remote sensing is increasingly being used to generate such data for mapping and monitoring changes in urban vegetation. The aim of this study is to identify and classify vegetation using the high-resolution Pleiades satellite image in urban park areas using pixel-based image analysis. Pixel based method was applied and support vector machine algorithm was used for classification of urban vegetation. Comparison of accuracy was made from the error matrices, overall accuracy and kappa coeffic...

However, disabled persons often face barriers in accessing heritage sites due to physical, informational, and attitudinal barriers. This paper examines the right of persons with disabilities to engage in social activity through heritage tourism. Drawing on the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the paper argues that heritage tourism must be made accessible to all, regardless of their disabilities. The paper highlights the importance of disability-inclusive design and the need for heritage site managers to adopt a disability-inclusive approach. Additionally, this paper highlights the benefits of accessible heritage tourism for disabled persons, such as increased social participation, cultural enrichment, and improved well-being. This paper opted to use the go-along interview method to gain findings for disabled person's lived experiences pertaining to their rights to ...

Even with the advent of the UNCRPD, the existing built environment fails the neighbourhood accessibility needs of people with disability. Little is known about the extent of built environment inaccessibility, and an improved measure, at a neighbourhood scale, is required. This paper argues that built environment practitioners must recognize the disabling potency of current built environment practice. It argues that they need to engage directly with people with disabilities to improve understanding of accessibility needs.

There are four National Heritage Buildings (gazetted under National Heritage Act, 2005) selected for this research.FindingsThe findings revealed a few significant factors comprising the physical built environment, organizational behavior and structure, financial resources, and existing legislation.Research limitations/implicationsThis research is limited to wheelchair users and National Heritage Buildings, which was conducted through semi-structured interviews and go-a...
