Although among designs of prosthetics there have been some successes in the design of functional ... more Although among designs of prosthetics there have been some successes in the design of functional robotic implants, there remain many issues and challenges concerned with the failure to meet the ‘ideal’ requirements of a satisfactory prosthetic. These ‘ideals’ require the device to be easy to control, comfortable to wear, and cosmetically pleasing. Because the literature on prosthetics and robotic implants are voluminous, this review focuses on four topics to determine key challenges and opportunities underlying these interdisciplinary research areas: firstly, an artificial hand as a biomimetic; secondly, prosthetic implants (electromyography signals and control); thirdly, prosthetic implants and tissue reactions to the material(s) of implants; fourthly, how inflammatory responses of cells and tissues surrounding implanted sensors interfere with the signal transmission of such sensors. Attack detection is one of the most important issues for computer networks security. Intrusion De... more Attack detection is one of the most important issues for computer networks security. Intrusion Detection System (IDS) monitors network for malicious activity. In this paper, a method is proposed to identify the attacks in IDS. This method generates rule sets for Intrusion Detection System using non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II). NSGA-II is one type of multi objective genetic algorithms. This method considers features of computer connection and defines two different fitness functions for generating the rules. The advantage of this method compared with previous methods which applied Evolutionary Algorithm. Since some methods applied one fitness function or convert many objectives to single objective, they lost many features.
ABSTRACT In this paper, the state feedback control of the linear singularly perturbed plant is st... more ABSTRACT In this paper, the state feedback control of the linear singularly perturbed plant is studied, where the sensor and the controller/actuator are connected via a network and the transmission frequency is constant. In terms of the model-based control, the model plant in the singularly perturbed system is added at the controller/actuator to stabilize the original singularly perturbed system with periodically updating its state by the actual state of the plant provided by the sensor. Moreover, under some certain conditions, independent of the small parameter, the existence of the bound of the small parameter is shown to guarantee the globally exponential stability of the whole closed-loop singularly perturbed system. In addition, a numerical simulation is shown to illustrate the results of the paper.

ABSTRACT In this paper, a robust stabilization of the uncertain singularly perturbed system via a... more ABSTRACT In this paper, a robust stabilization of the uncertain singularly perturbed system via a networked state feedback with the transmission time-delay is addressed. Taking its nominal system as a model plant, propagation unit and overall states chosen to overcome the difficulty of communication delay, the characterization of singular perturbation for the overall hybrid system is still preserved on each sampling interval. Since the traditional two-time-scale technique is not applicable for the overall hybrid system, its approximated slow and fast subsystems are constructed. Based on the decomposition, the approximated slow and fast test matrix for the stability is established. Then, Tikhonov-like limit process of the stability test matrix for the overall hybrid system is proved. It is shown by this Tikhonov-like result that there exists a bound of the small parameter to guarantee global exponential stability of the overall hybrid system on the time interval if the eigenvalues of a lower order slow test matrix are strictly inside its unit circles. Further, a structure analysis of the approximated slow test matrix is developed. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to illustrate the main results.
An adaptive control strategy for the 14 degrees of freedom (DOFs), five-fingered smart prosthetic... more An adaptive control strategy for the 14 degrees of freedom (DOFs), five-fingered smart prosthetic hand with unknown mass and inertia of all the fingers is developed in this work. In modeling, the various links used for the five fingers of the prosthetic hand are shown. A cubic polynomial for the trajectory planning is used. In particular, using a desired orientation for three-link fingers, the forward and inverse kinematics of the prosthetic hand system regarding the analytical solutions between the angular positions of joints and the positions and orientations of the end-effectors (fingertips) have been obtained. The simulations of the resulting adaptive controller with five-fingered prosthetic hand show enhanced performance.
