Hai uns días iniciaronse as obras de rehabilitaciòn e conservaciòn co orzamento da Xunta de Galiz... more Hai uns días iniciaronse as obras de rehabilitaciòn e conservaciòn co orzamento da Xunta de Galiza, conselleria de Cultura , na que no seu día foi definida polo mestre Filgueira Valverde, como "A Catedral do Rural", estamos logo a falar da igrexa de San Xiao de Ventosa (Agolada) posiblemente a sua fábrica data do final do século XII, e principios do XIII. Traballos que complementan os iniciados no ano dous mil e que pretenden poñer en valor o románico desta xoia e facer limpeza no exterior, muros e tellado dañados polo paso do tempo.

This article intends to collect the information and reserch published by different authors, somet... more This article intends to collect the information and reserch published by different authors, sometimes even contradictory information about the discovery of “The Treasure of Agolada”, in 1920, but it is claarly demonstrated that in 1907 it already appeared in the “Monumental and artistc catalogo of Pontevedra”manuscript by D.Rafael Balsa de la Vega.
The treasure dates back to the final bronze era, it consits of two bracelets, a choker, (necklace forged in gold sheels with horizontal grooves).
The true location fo this discorey is still a mather of controversy today. For some researches if appeared in the “Goias castro”, others place it in territory de Agolada, even in the Carrio between Lalín and Vila de Cruces.

Sgraffito is an ornamental or decorative architectural téchnique used to decorate planting and cl... more Sgraffito is an ornamental or decorative architectural téchnique used to decorate planting and claudding work of the exterior wall of houses and sometimes you can see sgraffito in granaries and church walls.
We have to differentiate taped and sgraffito, after a lot of years trant we ignored these ornamental construction techniques.
These specefic decoration works and protection against moisture and pests were so normal in bygone eras. They had plants derotifs latticewok and even houting scenes, pilgrimages, fretwork, flowers and other more or less curious motifs.
We can find this works on the walls of rural houses of wich the region of Ulloa is a good example and they get the recognition they deserve both as an architectural and ethnographia value.
In this article we present some of these private homes, some of the typical granaries and even some churchs. They are often very deterionted or dilapited construtions.
Even today we can admire beatiful sgraffito of undoubted value and we must to protect and preserve because they are often part of our history and popular culture.

Broz Rei, no ano 1983.
Na actualidade censamos, visitamos e fotografamos un total de 31 cruceiros, tres deles particulares o resto de titularidade publica.
Varios deles inventariados outros non e cunha moi variada situación e estado de conservación, en algún caso en claro perigo, polo que cumpre cas autoridades competentes na preservación do noso patrimonio tomaran as medidas oportunas, antes de que resulte irremediable.
