This project involved about 40 multidisciplinary researchers, multisector companies, and open-source collaboration. Inductively, we identified the emergence and evolution of project coordination approaches, roles, and the project network along with the project's life cycle. The present study shows how configurations of these elements coevolve as the project moves forward with no predefined structures or procedures. Therefore, it provides insights for coordinating innovative projects in the face of extreme time constraints and ill-defined institutional frameworks.

In a qualitative research conducted with experts’ consultants, the theoretical factors were analyzed. It is important to understand the critical factors to ensure that managers allocate resources appropriately when implementing and maintaining an integrated certified management system.
Abstract The introduction of supply chain management (SCM) between the 1980s and 1990s represente... more Abstract The introduction of supply chain management (SCM) between the 1980s and 1990s represented a breakthrough in the field of management. SCM provides the analytical and theoretical background to design, plan, and manage production activities involving complex chains of firms. Nowadays, both production activities and incremental and radical innovation are organized through complex networks. Innovations, especially radical ones, have unique characteristics related to production flows, which generate new challenges for researchers and managers. In this study, we argue that similar to SCM, ecosystem management (EM) represents a potential breakthrough in the field. However, no general framework exists to address EM. To address this challenge, we perform a systematic literature review by adopting a hybrid approach that combines bibliometric analysis and content analysis. Our findings offer a historical perspective of how EM and the ecosystem concept have evolved over three generations. Building on and reaching beyond current scholarship, we propose a definition of ecosystem as a type of meta-organization. We also identify the goals, scope, and boundaries of EM. Our contributions invite scholars to explore old and new questions related to innovation and management in a novel way.

These call for an ecosystem policy perspective, in which the main policy goal is to provide the right approach to support interdependent groups of organisations that explore radical innovations capable of transforming and creating new markets. We propose a new roadmapping approach to promote ecosystem creation and development based on action research in the main Brazilian Public Innovation Agency. Such action research investigates a real-world situation and its transformation, yet its generalization is limited. We recommend that future research tests our framework in different contexts.

In this setting, both the focal firm and the partners face uncertainties over time (e.g., technological uncertainties, market uncertainties) and, therefore, the performance of the focal firm and the overall interorganizational project depend on that firm's ability to assess potential uncertainties. The process of diffusion of a particular uncertainty throughout an inter-organizational project can be defined as uncertainty propagation. Assessment of uncertainty propagation can be employed to mitigate its detrimental impact. This paper connects previous studies of open innovation, uncertainty management and project management by providing a comprehensive, but structured, framework to assess uncertainty propagation. First, we propose the underlying causes of uncertainty propagation. Then, we present the three different approaches to its assessment, based on causes, effects and protection.
Este trabalho teve como objetivo corroborar para a discussão sobre a utilização de ferramentas da... more Este trabalho teve como objetivo corroborar para a discussão sobre a utilização de ferramentas da Gestão da Qualidade na melhoria do Planejamento e Controle da Produção (PCP), visando alavancar as diferentes dimensões da competitividade. Buscou-se na literatura estudos que trabalharam com essa integração, focando na utilização de ferramentas associadas ao programa Seis Sigma e mais especificamente ao uso do DMAIC. Com as análises realizadas foi possível criar uma proposta com diretrizes para aplicação do método, com o intuito de mitigar os pontos fracos encontrados e suas possíveis consequências. Esta proposta foi separada em fases, onde em cada uma delas constam atividades sugeridas a serem realizadas, de forma cronológica. Foi possível concluir que há uma relação entre os temas citados e eficácia na utilização dos dois em conjunto. Porém, existe a necessidade de uma abordagem mais profunda a respeito dos possíveis benefícios desta integração.

É através da comunicação eficiente que os objetivos dos projetos podem ser cumpridos e o sucesso dos mesmos pode ser atingido. O trabalho teve como objetivo principal avaliar a importância da comunicação no sucesso do gerenciamento de projetos. Também foram caraterizados os canais de comunicação mais utilizados, os itens que melhoram e que prejudicam a comunicação, e a satisfação com o processo de comunicação. Para tanto, o método de pesquisa através do questionário survey foi aplicado às pessoas que possuem experiência em gestão de projetos. As principais informações obtidas foram que as reuniões formais são os canais de comunicação mais utilizados pelos participantes e são também considerados os mais eficientes. This study aims to present indirect cost identification methods, analyze the estimation models adopted for its measurement, and also analyze ways of appropriating costs in several projects. The method adopted was the analysis of multiple cases in companies of the industrial, commercial and services sectors. It was verified that projects with greater detail of the scope show less difficulty in identifying indirect costs, directly influencing the method of estimation adopted. The estimate for indirect costs is specific to each company, and its complexity is defined by the volume of data available. Although literature offers some guidance on how to deal with uncertainties (mainly at the project level), there is a need for more empirical ground and theoretical development of a systemic approach to the management of uncertainties. To fill this gap, this article employs a multiple case approach in two established firms, investigating six exploratory projects. As main contributions, we identified new categories of uncertainties (primitive, structural, and elementary) and aspects related to managing these uncertainties.

Improving the efficiency of the risk management process in highly complex environments such as th... more Improving the efficiency of the risk management process in highly complex environments such as the software development industry has been drawing the attention of researchers that seek to understand how knowledge can help reduce those risks, and how it can help in the decision-making processes related to them. The present study was developed to contribute to understanding the role of knowledge management in reducing risks in the software development process. The qualitative research, conducted through a case study, tried to emphasize the mechanisms of conversion and the style of knowledge management employed to deal with the elements of knowledge related to risk. The work is restricted to the conditions found in companies certified by quality management programs. The results include the observation that risk management helps to obtain and to organize knowledge about risks, creating the conditions to re-utilize knowledge and thereby improve the efficiency of the risk management process. It was also observed that most of that knowledge is to be found within the sphere of explicit knowledge, more common in the style of knowledge management oriented to systems.
