As literature has evolved to encompass various styles of writing, several theories related to the LGBTQ community have emerged, often originating within the realm of feminist discourse. Renowned scholars such as Judith Butler and Jay Prosser have formulated theories on transsexuality, paving the way for the establishment of a distinct branch of transgender literature with a unique perspective. This body of literature has played a crucial role in helping transgender individuals establish their own identity within a society that has traditionally provided them with minimal space. This paper aims to trace the development of transgender studies and literature from ancient times to the contemporary era and to assess its relevance in today's societal context.
