General troubleshooting steps to help with Mac app issues

General Troubleshooting

  1. Uninstall the app by deleting it from your MacBook. Use any of these ways to uninstall or move the app to the Trash:

    1. Drag the app to the Trash.

    2. Select the app and choose File > Move to Trash from the menu bar.

    3. Select the app and press Command-Delete on your keyboard.

  2. Reinstall or add the app using this link: https://speechify.com/text-to-speech-mac/

Mac App Crash

Follow the instructions below to fix a Mac app crash issue:

  1. Delete the app from your MacBook.

  2. Press command + space

  3. Type 'Terminal' in the search spotlight

  4. Type the command defaults delete com.cliffweitzman.speechifydesktop3 in the terminal box as shown in the video here

  5. Reinstall the app using this link: https://speechify.com/text-to-speech-mac/


Disable VPN

If you're unable to access your premium subscription, it's likely due to a VPN. Please disable your VPN.

  • Open your VPN app

  • Find the option to disable it. Note that it varies depending on the VPN app. Once it is disabled, it will show Not Connected and you can try again and see if it works.
