Beverly Mayne Kienzle, past President of the International Medieval Sermon Studies Society (1996-2002), retired in 2015 as the John H. Morison Professor of the Practice in Latin and Romance Languages, Harvard Divinity School. She has published fifteen books in medieval studies, including five on Hildegard of Bingen: A Companion to Hildegard of Bingen, co-edited with Debra L. Stoudt and George Ferzoco (2013). The Solutions to 38 Questions of Hildegard of Bingen, translation with Jenny C. Bledsoe and S. Behnke (2014); The Gospel Homilies of Hildegard of Bingen, translation and Introduction (2011); Hildegard of Bingen and her Gospel Homilies (2009); Hildegard of Bingen, Expositiones euangeliorum, co-edited with Carolyn Muessig and George Ferzoco (2007). Her most recent book, The Saintly Woman: Medieval Saints, Modern Women, and Intimate Partner Violence (2018), co-authored with Nancy E. Nienhuis, deals with the religious and theological underpinnings of intimate partner violence in narratives from the Middle Ages to the present.
