HI,

I would like to be able to attach my own post install dependencies to the winpython. After looking into this a bit, i realized, that the best approach may be to use ansible, as it is python, and designed for this kind of thing.
So the feature request is:

  • bundled ansible/bash(cygwin/msys2/babun) support
  • Option in installer to run 'supplied' Ansible playbook

This means i can use the winpython base + post ansible install scripting to set up a desktop

ansible doesn't support python3 yet, a fundamental flaw. Maybe one day it will change as
"Ansible 2.2 features a tech preview of Python 3 support"

then there is the non-native Windows flaw, but as Microsoft is working in Linux compatibility direction, the point may become irrelevant in one year.

Wake me up when that will change. Closing for now to better see fixable issues

What about bundled babun/cygwin? this would work for me i the short term.
