Hi there! My name is Jon.
My purpose
My goal is to make Machine Learning for Embedded Devices (aka TinyML and EdgeML) as well as Audio Machine Learning as open and accessible as possible for people all over the world.
To do this, I provide a set of educational resources on these topics under jonnor/embeddedml and jonnor/machinehearing.
And I develop the emlearn TinyML library, which makes it easy to deploy efficient ML models to microcontrollers and embedded devices.
I also do presentations on conferences on these topics. You can find most of the recorded ones on my Youtube account.
How sponsorship will be used
Sponsorship money will go to buying electronics for testing/developing/demoing the open-source projects I develop (emlearn etc.), as well as a travel fund for going to conferences to give presentations about open-source projects.
About me
My background is a combination of electronics engineering, signal processing (audio and image), and software development. I have worked on open-source software since 2010. Some previous contributions have been to MyPaint, GIMP, Flowhub.io.
I am also active in the makerspace scene in Oslo, Norway at Bitraf.
