I author and maintain news-please, a web crawler and information extractor for online news articles. news-please is being used by practitioners and researchers in various sciences as well as in the industry. Currently, my main goals are to improve the usability of news-please, re-enable database support, and build a strong community of both developers and users around the system.
A little background information: news-please has become a project that I try advance in my leisure time, but it was initially launched during my work as a Ph.D. student. The other projects shown on my GitHub profile page are mostly in the realm of media bias identification, which is my primary research topic during my Ph.D. studies.
