We often have issues with servers going down like this:
#3841

Or datasets disappearing. We could just upload all of them to figshare, and not worry about it any more. figshare has long term preservation guarantees and no size limit.

(i'd also be willing to work on this, but perhaps a core contributor might be more equipped in terms of storing the keys somewhere)

feel free to go for it an hand me the keys. Unfortunately we don't have a private place for that yet. But if you do it, that will be motivation for me to create a private github repo maybe ;)
