The Pyodide team released version 0.23.0 earlier today. We should upgrade when we can. Some brief highlights (from my point of view):

  • Upgrade to CPython 3.11.2 (faster! better error messages! more types!)
  • Now shipping .pyc option of stdlib for decreased load size
  • More libraries, including fastparquet and mypy
  • Experimental SDL2 integration (Pyxel)

People have been hassling us about parquet support for years. I'm still not entirely sure what it is though.

Some kind of data file format from what I understand? There's been some buzz about it and the Arrow data format in the PyScript discord as well...
