Recently I discovered that MPD supports "partitions" - independent player instances within the same player process. I found it very convenient, as I can create an individual partition for playing audiobooks, so that I don't need to remember where I stopped listening when I switch to music. But information on that feature and its support is various clients is very scant. With mpc I can handle partitions using
-a <partitoin_name>.ncmpcppdoes not seem to have any mention of partitions at all, neither in man page, nor in github issues/discussions. If so, perhaps it's possible to make, on the server side, a specific partition temporarily default, so that clients like ncmpcpp show its playlist?Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
