In actual use, I found that the overall working temperature of W5500 is relatively high under heavy load. In scenarios where work requires high stability or in hot summer, a separate cooling system must be added. The stability under high load is not particularly good, and the overall power consumption is also relatively high.
I am looking for a new Ethernet PHY alternative and found that CH390H has more advantages. Can the community promote the porting of CH390H drivers to mircopython?
CH390H has better and more outstanding overall temperature control, and the working power consumption is more than 50% lower than W5500.
W5500 has high power consumption: 132mA (100Mbps transmission), 75mA (idle), resulting in obvious heating.
CH390H has low power consumption: 58mA (100Mbps), 26mA (idle), power consumption is reduced by more than 50%, and heat dissipation problems are minimized.
CH390H: Lower cost than W5500, integrated MAC address, 50Ω impedance matching and LDO, reducing peripheral component costs, and simpler circuit design than W5500.
CH390 data address: https://www.wch.cn/products/CH390.html
I am currently using the RP2040 + W5500 hardware combination, can RP2040 be adapted to CH390H
