Hello,
being brand new Home Assistant user I love the dashboard though I face issue which you please might consider for better control over energy efficiency/ flow / balance:

(i) my home has electric energy sub-meters so would be great to have possibility adding also sub-meters not only individual devices (ascription of sub-meters to defined zones would be more than enough IMHO); The workaround I found is to consider sub-meters as individual devices though it has several drawbacks;

(ii) I have also sub-meters of cold&hot water as well as heat energy sub-meters for independent heating circuits;

Summing up: heat energy flow and water flow, similar to electric energy flow/balance, would be fabulous.

(holistic view not mentioned above for clarity: waste water heat recovery (e.g. https://powerpipehr.co.uk/); grey water & rain water recovery (e.g. https://www.hydraloop.com/) or at least reuse for garden watering are becoming more popular in my region, so considering several sources as well as recovered water/heat would be great info affecting carbon footprint of a house; in my case, I also divide consumed water to potable water (cold &hot using sub-meters) and to watering-purpose water (purified grey sewer & rain water + water from the well if needed)

(iii) brief research yielded rather low (or very low) interest in integration of solar (not PV) systems; IMHO would be excellent to include solar-generated energy (heat, not electric current); in my case, custom component (https://github.com/bosch-thermostat/home-assistant-bosch-custom-component) allows to read solar yield of the solar (not PV) system which is part of my heating system; Moreover, this is so-called green energy affecting carbon footprint of the building.
So, IMHO it would be perfect to have possibility to add heat/cold sources (importantly, "green" vs. fossil vs. recovered) not only CNG/LPG consumption. I guess it also covers air conditioning issues in context of energy transformation (electricity <-> heat) & energy flow. (purists might ask how much electricity uses one (circulation pump) to harvest heat from solar panels or solid fuel boiler)

(iv) as mentioned in (ii), I follow also heat distribution (soon, it will be heat and cold distribution as a consequence of transforming into floor heating & cooling system) with sub-meters; possibility to follow sub-meters (zones) and individual devices (portable ACs and heaters etc.)

(v) in case of heat pump its efficiency (electricity consumption vs. heat delivery) might be superb info

Coming to the end of this longish story; the energy dashboard is one of my favorites though it would be fabulous to balance and follow flow of heat and water similarly to electricity.
Hopefully, new options will be inspiration to the users and fans of the dashboard to transform towards lower carbon footprint.
I will be more than happy to do extra explanations in case the description is not clear enough.
Regards,
Michal
